This is something we're a bit stuck on at the mo too - can't seem to agree on anything! There are loads of ideas we've had though:

    • Names of famous writers (I did an English degree and have a bit of a passion for reading ?) - e.g. Shakespeare, Austen, Bronte etc...you get the idea
    • The word 'love' in different languages
    • Places you've been together
    • Famous cities - Barcelona, New York, Paris etc
    • Different types of wine or cocktails
    • Football players or stadiums (don't really like this idea myself but my OH does!)
    • Themed to your honeymoon - places you're going, things associated with it - this is the idea I like most at the moment as we're going on safari and there are some quite quirky, exotic names of the lodges and national parks we're visiting etc. OH isn't convinced though!

Hope that gives you a starting point maybe?!

    Hi Carol,

We are having a sort of casino/vegas themed wedding so we are naming our tables after casinos in vegas, the top table will be the belago etc.

We are naming ours after songs as our relationship has been formed a bit around gigs and music generally! We are undecided whether to have 'our songs' as names or just for the top table, and to name the other tables after our friends - e.g. my friends table could be 'Mr Brightside' - think we are more likely to do that, as a nice nod to our pals / family and hopefully evoke some funny memories associated with the song! We also thought of naming them after bands we have seen together or wedding related songs, like going to the chapel, white wedding, etc...

Someone on here said they were doing their 'firsts' e.g. first date - name of pub or whatever, first film they saw together, first street they lived on, etc, which I think is really lovely. Or you could do your first lot of dates, though with us I doubt that would work as it would be pub, pub, pub, cinema, gig, home, pub, park - hmmmm!

Or you could do something related to your engagement, similar to Stazzles honeymoon idea (love that!) Like if you got engaged away, or had a weeked / day out, you could name it with places associated or things you did that day (only the clean stuff haha!)

And a friend of mine named theirs after famous couples - they had a mix of classic and modern - fred and ginger, ross and rachel, homer and marje - think that's really cool!

There are lots of lovely things to do, personal to you and your boyfriend and/or your guests. Makes for good dinner or pub talk with your OH! ?

We were going to have places we have been on holiday together but we have ended up with 12 tables and haven't been to enough places!

So we are now using places that we are going to visit on honeymoon with pictures like postcards.

We're still undecided on our tables names however we're considering either rugby league players (we're both avid RL fans), autumn flowers (we're getting married in October) or places in Amsterdam (our first holiday together) x

I think we'll probably just have numbers. That or I quite fancy the names of ski runs in places we've been to or will go to on honeymoon ?

We were going to have each table named after a poem/reading and have the actual poem on the table too, but in the end decided to go for numbers, but have pictures of me and OH at that age on the other side of the card (if that even makes sense). Plus this way I can involve family members by asking them to find pictures!

Thanks - I'm 90% sure I got the idea from Hitched so am not taking any credit for the idea!

We're going to have maximum 20 tables, so have gone for 1-20. Haven't decided which age will be our table yet! The plan is to have one side of the card with a big number on it and the other with a collage-type thing of us at that age. OH wants just one picture each on each card but I think more is better. We'll see! I imagine we'll put the younger ages on tables with people who've only known us from 18 years old, and the older ages on tbales with family members who saw more of us when we were younger, so the pictures will be new to people if you see what I mean?!

We're having names of streets/hamlets that mean a lot for both our families, like places of birth of our parents/grandparents, places we grew up, our first flat together, basically the geographical history of our couple ? It means we'll have names in French, Breton, Welsh, English and of Scottish origins! We are planning to include a few sentences in both French and English to explain what each table name means.

We are intending to have our tables named after our favourite films. I want (if we ever get round to doing it! ?) to have us recreate the front covers of these with us in the poses. Really hope we do this

We're having names of scuba dive sites that are special to us. Some individual (ie Indonesian ones for me) and some places that we've dived together. Gildenburgh being the top table.....the inland dive site we were at when we both decided we liked each other.
