Tips for a Budget Wedding:

Find community centers and parks or gardens which they are willing to lease out to residents for a very nominal fee.

For wedding songs, catch hold of your grandmother and others of her age.

Instead of putting up a wide range of dishes restrict yourself.

Absolute budget marriage would be one which is conducted in a court with a couple of witnesses from the bride and the groom's side. However, don't forget to buy some sweets for the person who registers your marriage.

I'm terrible at this. I would love top tips on negotiation. I want to haggle down the cost of car hire, I figure it is a winter wedding so it is the quieter time, but is that in my favour or not - as they have less custom won't they want to charge more?

We did! My OH was there and just asked how much each car was (we want 2). The fella said they wer £350 each, but he would do the second for £300. We were like "o thats quite a lot, I'll have to think about this". He said that he'd do both for £600, wo which the OH asked "Is that the best you can do?" He knocked another £20 off. Doesnt sound much, but if i got an extra £20 off everything...

They're at it over on OT and BT too. <suspicious hat> If I was a suspicious sort of person I'd think it was someone trying to bump up their post count before starting an all out advertising assault. Either that or they think the "shoes info" in their signature bar is a link to their website (selling shoes, perhaps). If it's the latter and they've mucked up something as simple as adding a link into an internet forum signature I don't give much for their ability to work with a computer well enough to run an efficient online business ? </suspicious hat>

Hmmmm, maybe the OP is actually a registrar & is fed up of nobody buying them sweets??

Not sure I would want my nan & her mates suggesting any songs for a wedding either (my nan is 94 & would nt have a clue)
