xstaceylpx, 10 March, 2013 at 11:02 Posted on Planning 0 7

Ok so like every bride to be iv been continuously searching the internet for ideas and have came across many websites where brides are thaving themed weddings. so i would like to just see what other brides are doing for their weddings. We are just having a traditional classic wedding. is this boring lol?

I am having a formula 1 theme!! My fiance and I are massive F1 and especially Redbull fans. We are having a table plan in the form of a pit board (which i am going to make at work), invites (and general stationary) with the team colours and font. the colour is running through everything. I have navy shoes to wear and i have bought H2B navy socks! girls are having blue in the flowers and navy dresses. The favours are going to be F1 themed.

We are not massively gushy people, and I have been looking at other weddings in magazines and getting worried that other people have had hearts and gushy things everywhere- we just aren't like that so we are being slightly different. Though keeping tradition with a church and sit down meal.

Theme it all they way if that is what YOU want. If not enjoy something different!!!

My other main wedding haunt is Offbeat bride, and they have a GOOD mantra for this.

Dont think about a theme but instead my of a vibe

So, dont theme it to the nines even when it seems silly, but instead look at what things identify you as a couple, common interests, ideas and goals. Me and my partner are gamers. we played video games & boards games so it has a gamer spin in it, 8 bit hearts, some 8 bit fonts and few gaming references that fix in with the wedding ideals.

I don't think anyone should have a theme just for the sake of it.

We are not having a theme just filling our day with the things we love and dressing the venue to compliment what is already there.

    This, this and thrice this!

My fiance and I aren't particularly demonstrative either (*cringe*) and the idea of hearts and flowers and pink and soppy things leaves me a little bit cold.

I LOVE the idea of an F1 wedding! ?

Also, just a quickie to say that I found 'theming' an easier approach to planning.

Basically, if you have a specific theme (or vibe- I like that!) in mind, it limits your choices on things. Otherwise, I know what I'm like- I'd never make a decision about anything! ?

Mine could probably be classed as a bit of a mish mash as I have things like fish bowls to bird cages, vintage style photo frames and the tables are being named after UK race tracks.

It really doesnt matter what you have as long as you are happy having it.
