I've got one. Dont know if its normal but they're there to usher guests in the right direction, so I guess if there are going to be guests then there can be ushers! lol!

If you want them! My OH didn't want to leave any of his close friends out, so he has 2 best men and 4 ushers! I'll have to find them lots of jobs to do to keep them busy!! xx

I am. OK he'll only be 11 years old, but his main jobs will be to give out our order of ceremony and help people find their seats for the meal, he should be able to manage that. (Well his sister is my bridesmaid, I had to find something for him to do!)

We are, mainly because our venue recommends them to direct people in as it's a bit like a secret garden! But also because we want to include MrFP's BIL and close friend in our wedding x

Yep, we will. We've got the Best Woman anyway, then probably h2b's brother and 2 best friends as ushers. Maybe my brother too if 4 ushers isn't too much! We have just under 100 guests coming though so maybe 4 ushers is quite reasonable.

We're not, we are having a civil ceremony and already have two best men, so there wasn't really anyone else to ask to be an usher. But it does look nice and balanced in the photos if you have an even number of bridemaids and best men/ushers (I'm a stickler for having things matching) so I'm a little sad about it!!

I was insistent that we didn't need them - I didn't want any of the Bride's side and Groom's side being separated and there were less than 40 at the ceremony so I figured people would be able to park themselves somewhere convenient. However, on the day my two brothers sort of adopted the role out of necessity - one had to work the stereo to cue up the music at the right times and one gave out the orders of ceremony. I was a little disappointed that this meant the pair of them ended up stood at the back of the room for the ceremony as this was where the stereo was and by the time the OOC's were handed out there weren't any seats down the front. Even if you don't make it official (if they'd been official we were at risk of having more bridal party than guests!) you might want to have someone on standby to do these sort of things.

Our Best Men has happily shared the role to date - both shared stag organising responsibilities, and as far as I know both are doing speeches. To save probs when we came to signing of register we have asked our Mum's to do this - a way of having them involved then too! xx

We're having 2 - my OHs brother and his cousin. So we'll have OH, his Dad, my Dad, best man and 2 ushers. Takes advantage of the buy 5 get 1 for free hire deals at a lot of places lol.

Oh and we've got around about 80 day guests.

We are. We have a best man and 2 Ushers. One from each side of the family so hopefully they will work out who everyone is and wont be afraid to talk to all the guests and show them to seats etc.

We're not having any, I'm kind of hoping everything will just run itself and our guests will be clever enough to sit down unaided!
