rozd3, 27 May, 2012 at 12:59 Posted on Planning 0 9

Me and my fiance went to scotland on holiday we've been engaged for almost 2 years now and we are starting to talk about where we want the wedding and we went to the trossachs in scotland it's near callander and we loved it does anyone know anywhere in or near the trossachs that is beautiful that we can get married.

We live in west yorkshire what forms would we need to complete for a marriage in scotland?

I would love any help.

thanks

I would suggest emailing Martin Pettinger. He is a photographer up that way who is an excellent guy and reasonably priced for his ability. He knows many venues in that area and can suggest a few to you.

btw, Martins landscape photographs of the area are beautiful too....

Ha we were the opposite. We live in Fife and wanted to get married in London, but England has the rule you have to reside for 7 days before you can give notice. As far as I'm aware, you give notice in your local county etc, then also in Scotland, where you will be married.

No idea what your budget is but the Roman Camp Hotel in Callander is fab.

There are loads of places on Loch Lomond too, like Cameron house and Ross Priory.

Hello. We're from Suffolk but got married in Scotland two years ago. Had a wonderful humanist ceremony on the beach at Bettyhill on the north coast, handfasting cords, the lot. No venue charges so saved a fortune! Used John from Captiv8 in Thurso for the photo's, he did an amazing job with two people who dont like their photo taken... ?

ooh, this is our venue!!! We live in Northampton and we only needed to give notice in Dumbarton as they are conducting our ceremony; we didn't need to give notice in Northampton.
