I can see from your list you have pretty much got everything sorted (other than wedding car, I agree, you need to do that next). If you decide you want to think about any thankyou gifts, do have a look at our website, we stock a great range of items that would be suitable, from engravable hip flasks to mirror compacts and lots in between. It's something to think about if you are going to do that, and maybe get them out of the way in advance.

Yay that's great news!

Wow, that is very organised! Hopefully you'll be one of those super cool brides who literally has nothing to do in the last week apart from quaff champaign and get excited.

I'm October 2013 and have done nothing apart from rough guest lists and have arguements re rough guestlist!

This is exactly my plan...

I havent heard back from the photographer but he is a friend of a friend and she says he mentioned I had emailed him and he is free on my date, I just need to double check I dont hate him and that his work is good but I have heard nothing but glowing references so I am hopeful.

My practice invitation arrived today, its the 145mm square from PDA card and craft..it is exactly as I was expecting size wise and the colour seems ok, I am just unsure about the inserts, they will have to be wider than I had anticipated. I bought an insert from them but I may have trouble getting my printer to print on it so may have to get some A4 card and just do 2 to a sheet.

Just need to figure out the wording, decide exactly who we are inviting and then I can start getting them made. Am still unsure about STD's....

Exciting!! You'll hate me for saying this but time will fly - as a fellow 2013 bride who boooked mid way through 2011 and now has less than 9 months left I feel qualified to say it!!!

This is exactly how I feel, yes there is 15 months to go but its amazing how time flies when it wants to!! I said to a colleague earlier I need to get started asap because I dont want to be sat here in 13 months time thinking "hmm I better get started" and then end up having a major meltdown (because thats exactly the kind of thing that would happen, I have already had mini meltdowns over venues)

Makeney Hall Hotel..the lack of golfers won us over ?

That was one of the big plus points of Makeney for us! Don't want to be surrounded by random strangers on my wedding day. I didn't know they had a DJ, who is it?

Not a clue! Im not too fussed really, its at the bottom of my priority list ?

I liked Horsley Lodge but again it had golfers and I was put off by the what looked to be self service coffee machine. Plus I didnt really like the corridor from the bar to the wedding room as it felt like going back of house..

Breadsall was a tie with Makeney but it felt a bit impersonal plus the golfers were offputting.

I went to look at Bosworth Hall but that was almost a definate no, I loved the outside but the inside was just so tatty, I knew I couldnt hold my wedding there. Plus 2 of the rooms we were using were pink..as much as I love pink I didnt want a pink wedding room, plus it would clash with dark red.

I was going to go and look at Morley Hayes but never got around to it and in the end it just wasnt necessary.
