I had Lonestar - Amazed for walking down the aisle, November rain (instrumental) for signing the register and an instrumental version of elbows one day like this for walking out. We had bryan adams, heaven for our first dance which was sang by our wedding singer.

From the moment i heard the lonestar song, i just knew it was the song i was going to walk down the aisle to. The opening lines were just perfect.

ETA - we had the Bruno song as our second dance. I ❤️❤️❤️ that song. Everytime i hear it on the radio (about 4 times a day) it reminds me of our wedding

A popular idea at the moment is to play your first dance song as the last song of the evening as well, particularly if you are not having an 'official exit' - it seems to work well and rounds of the evening nicely.

I love True Love Ways by Buddy Holly! I wanted it for the first dance but OH didn't which ended up in me glaring at him for quite a length of time. Didn't work!

We had:

Processional: Pachelbel's Canon in D

Signing the register: 'The Rose' and a traditional Welsh hymn

Recessional: Mairi's Wedding

First Dance: Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer

After seeing the Canon on Thursday night, I know now that what we had chosen has been approved ?. What we are having is:

Guests arriving with groom, BM etc - Pacelbel in Canon D (organist will play this)

Arrival of the bride - Metallica 'Nothing Else Matters' instrumental version

Signing of the Register - as there are three registers to sign I was told by the Canon that one track wouldn't be enough and that he could repeat the one track or we can choose some more. So the first song will be by Nightwish and its their version of 'Walking in the Air' then the choir will sing 'Make you feel my love' by Bob Dylan and Adele.

For the dismissal we are having something fun and silly (like us) and chosen 'The Cantina Song' by John Williams as heard/seen in Star Wars.

We haven't chosen our first dance yet, but we have a few ideas

Amazed is very popular here in Hertfordshire, but any songs that are personal to you can help the day.

I met Carmen nearly 8 years ago, and we're both very much into our music, so lots of 2003 era tracks bring us both back to that time.

Don't think you need to have slow ballads, songs that remind you of your first date are a great way to personalise the music.
