I think pink and white would look the best

But i do like the gold dust ones Smiley smile Could you have it so that it fits in with your colour theme?

I am personally not a fan of the bows or the glitter for a wedding, but that is just personal preference.

I hope to grow my nails and have a french polish shellac but if not, I'll have some gel ones with just a french polish too.

What are you thinking of having?

I have short wide nails that get broken as soon as the white bit gets over 1mm due to work or climbing. I have 2 weeks before I get a manicure (first ever not done myself!) and am doing all I can not to break or split any in that time! I don't want anything false in any way - simple and classic is good for me as long as I end up with some nails to play with!

They all look too OTT to me, not a fan of any (especially the bow, they're vile!). Just having acrylic french manicures as my own won't grow and I bite them when they're not done.

I would have loved any of them for my hen weekend, but not my wedding. I just went with good old french polish on gel extensions.

I've seen a few brides with black or red nails and think it looks lovely. I always have a colour and French just doesn't look right on me. But for a bit of difference to my normal nails, I'll be having Mrs A on my ring finger nail. Mum baulked and I'm sure other people will lol but I think it's sweet.

Going to go with the French polish look. Have to think, all this nail art stuff will date and then your shot of the ring will look dated too.

That's a good point bout the nail art dating. I thought I'd have French. Possibly with a little crystal in the corner or something, but I can't rely on my nails being long enough. Sometimes they're great and grow to a nice length, other times they're constantly breaking. You can guarantee that if I need them to stay in good condition for the wedding I'll end up breaking one a few days before.

BUT I don't really want to go to all the effort of having acrylic nails applied just for one day. What are the other options? What's this Shellac I keep hearing? And how are gel nails different?

Nail art will date, but styles of French have also changed over the years, half tips, full tips, faded tips, rounded tips, squared tips. My nails are filled every week so don't feel it's a big deal having them done.

Shellac is like a gel mixed in with nail varnish that hardens under UV light, it lasts about 2 weeks without chipping and shouldn't do much damage to them. Ideal for special occasions, but not ideal if you'll be doing lots of stuff before hand like typing etc. They also have to be a certain length (as I heard my nail lady say), so she advises having acryllic tips and then once your nails have grown, shellac over it.

I'm going to need extensions and I'm umming and ahhing whether to have white tips or natural tips. My mum hates the white tips and says they look tacky, but I think it depends on the length of the white bit.

I do like the idea of having a tiny gem on one nail, or perhaps a silver line somewhere, but will probably end up getting plain. May try and find a nail bar when we're on honeymoon in the states to get them infilled.

I'm considering having shellac or geleration done, as my nails chip and break easily because of my work.

As for the colour its either going to be a simple french polish or a rose pink colour to match my make up and flowers.

I reckon I'll end up with nude colour on my fingers and tootsies. Something like this

Oh I'm going all out on my toenails! My shoes are closed toe, so they won't be on show, but I want something fancy for the honeymoon. Will probably just let the nail person go wild!

Nothing but classic all the way for me. I had tips put on and then a pale rose pink overlay. That meant the white tip wasn't uber-white. Nail art is trashy (in my cabbage).

Seeing this just confirms what I was umming and ahhing about above. I think the natural tip is nicer.

I quite fancy having them done like this:

But otherwise just a pale rosey pink I think. My nails are pretty short, so I don't think a french polish will look right. I am having Shellac - safest option given I am not too careful with my nails generally!

I'm not a fan of any of those in the picture. In fact, I'm not a fan of any false nails for weddings, I just think they look a bit too perfect. I would say, if you do want acrylics, just go for french manicure ones and nothing fancy... maybe a gem on the corners or something if you want that bit extra.
