Wedding Nightmares

laura02010, 31 October, 2012 at 08:45 Posted on Planning 0 14

Am I the only one....

I get married in just under 8 months and have had my 3rd wedding related nightmare!

My OH saw me in my dress, I then ran up the street to get away from him and got caught in a storm, the dress was wet, had mini stones caught up in the lace and mud up the back! Then it was the morning of the wedding and my roots were showing badly and I had forgotten to book a hairdresser so was running round trying to find someone, then remembered I had chipped nailvarnish on and needed a manicure but didn't have time! I then got married (I assume - can't remember this part of the dream/nightmare) and then it was all over and I hadn't even spoken to half of my guests and felt really bad!

I feel quite calm about the day really but thought I would share!

Anyone else having nightmares? xx

We get married in about 8mths too and like you wedding nightmares galore!

First, I was 9mths pregnant and I went for my last dress fitting and they couldn't alter my dress to cover my bump and I was stood on the box with my dress undone, crying my eyes out. (I am definitely NOT pregnant so this will not be reality)

Then the other night, the photographer didn't show up! He was busy at work so he couldn't make it. Obvs when crazy at him and he eventually turned up at 3.30 halfway through our wedding breakfast!!

    Dreams are funny old things!!!

My dream last night was random (53 sleeps to go for me!)

It was about cake toppers! They were like the 'Adipose' people from an episode of Dr Who! Weird! Nothing really happened in the dream, but I just remember waking up thinking of them!

I've had a few. In the latest one I wore my wedding dress to our rehearsal and the couple who are getting married the day after us were there too in all their outfits. I sat behind the other bride and noticed her dress has multi coloured plastic wings attached to it. Everyone in the church kept telling her how amazing and "different" her dress was even though she looked like a dodgy character from a panto.

I have just over 10 months to go and every so often since we started planning will have a dream about the wedding. The other night I had a dream that I was sat on the top table with people opposite and was chatting away to who I think was my aunty. Then my H2B's stepdad got up to make a speech and I realised I hadnt heard my dads or H2B's speech as I had been too busy talking. Then his dad turned into my dad and it was the first time I had seen their suits, they were wearing strange grey wooly morning suits..

I was also with my mum at a wedding fayre when this bride came to model her dress and it looked like she was dressed in a white sack (you couldnt see leg or feet definition, it was just like she was stood in a sack) Then I started jumping up and down because my dress was better...?

I keep dreaming that it is about 1 hour before the wedding and then I suddenly realise that I haven't bought a wedding dress! The rest of the dream is then spent frantically rushing around bridal shops to find them either closed or not selling off the peg wedding dresses - then during all of this panic, the car also breaks down, I get lost and completely forget where other bridal shops are!

I've never made it to the church yet!! (Which is also weird because I'm not getting married in a church!!)

I've only had 1 which was quite random.

We were getting ready at my venue and we had our hair and the girls had their make up done, when we realised none of us had our wedding outfits with us so we got in a cab to go across London to get them only London was actually the desert in Dubai (I know this because went on desert safari while I was there) the Taxi driver then said he had to go and Pray (he was an Arab) to which we obviously didn't have time for so ended up walking through the desert by which time all our hair was flat and the girls make up had run in the heat.....then the dream changed and we were back at my venue only in the dream it wasn't my venue, it was my old school hall and it wasn't my wedding it was a friends wedding and I didn't like the way she had decorated 'my venue' it made it look look not like my venue....confused?? so was I when I woke up.

It's so weird what goes on in our subconscious!

I had a dream that my mum opened a bridal shop (she works in admin) She asked me to model my dress for the opening day. The shop was located ages away from where we live so she said no one would see. My whole family turned up including a cousin I don't speak to and is not invited to the wedding. She told me my wedding dress looked like a dressing gown (what the hell) so i punched her in the face!!

    Very random ?

I've had a couple of dreams where it's been our wedding day but everything seemed to go OK in them - no actual 'nightmares' yet. Maybe they'll come nearer the time!

On the other hand, OH confessed the other day that he'd had one where he realised an hour before the ceremony that all the other men in the wedding party had got their suits but he'd forgotten to get one for himself. He woke up in a proper panic. It made me laugh because when awake he's so laid back about the wedding, he's practically horizontal!

At least once a week I have a wedding nightmare. It's so realistic and the same theme but different versions! I'm late and can't get to the wedding because I'm in a boat miles away, stuck in a jam or a swamp etc. I'm there but forgot to film the ceremony/ at the wrong wedding/ left my camera somewhere/ only have a watch battery to last all day. It's a nightmare but thankfully none have happened yet. Who'd be a wedding videographer?

Yep I've had a least 2 wedding nightmares since getting engaged. The latest was waking up on the morning of the wedding realising that I had nothing else sorted but the venue! The most memorable part was realising that I had no bouquet, so turning around to my dad and saying, 'Oh my God, I've got no flowers! Shall we nip up to Morrisons and get some? Its probably my unconscious telling me to book a florist NOW! ?
