Wedding photographer needed May 2011 Derby

fluffymalone, 14 November, 2010 at 10:14 Posted on Planning 0 21

Hi

Im looking (hoping and praying) to find a photographer that is perhaps starting out in Wedding Photography

We have tried really hard to find the money to have a professional photographer but the budget just wont stretch!! We are paying for all the wedding ourselves and Really worried that I wont have any lovely photos to remember our day.

We would obviously in return allow for the photos to be used in your portfolio.

Please contact ******@****.**.**

Thanks in advance for your help

xxxx

I would contact your local collage and find a photography student, look for one that has shot people rather than objects. They would be more than happy to do it for the experience.

    Hi,

I know an excellent local photographer to you, but he is a full time proffessional.

    What is your max budget?

    You're in a paradox.

You can't afford anyone because you don't have a budget Smiley smile

When in May is it, how much can you spend? I'm £800 all day on weekends and £700 on weekdays.

Look on your local Gumtree, there's bound to be lots of cheap photographers on there. There is down here...but also some very questionable ones too, so buyer beware and all that.

Hiya, Just a suggestion but have you got a family member or close friend who could do it for you?? It may not be perfect but at least then you would have something plus you could put all the jpegs on a cd and do what you wanted in the lines of an album etc this is what were doing or another idea is get a pile of bought cameras and have your guests be the photographers (if your ok with this obviously) HTH Em xxx

    Hi,

Its a real shame that you cant afford a proffessional photographer on your wedding day, to capture all those precious moments, these photos are for a life memory of your day.

But as they say you get what you have paid for, if you get a so called student/training, they are training for a reason, and obvousley there standard of work wont be as good.

Just be careful, and good luck ?

I know you've siad you don't have a budget but this lady has just started her photography business so might not be very expensive: http://hannahmillardphotography.co.uk/ I don't know how much she charges but her photos are gorgeous and I know she is really passionate about what she does and you'd be pleased with her work (as long as you like the style of the pics on her website that is). She was working as an amateur earlier this year but has just gone part-time professional.

    She is lovely too!

Edit: just found prices on her blog: http://hannahmillardphotography.blogspot.com/p/prices.html She is £300 for 8 hours plus a disc of photos.

Thanks Tina had a look and going to discuss it with OH again as that is a really good price.

Thanks to everyone elso who replied too. Think we are just going to have to either try harder to get money together or get friends to do it.

    Thanks again

Fluffy - Did you find a TOG in the end?

If not, just thought I would say that in the hitched raffle I wont a photoshoot with OhLaLa who is Leicester based. I haven't had it as yet but in an email she mentioned that she would be looking to start doing weddings in the new year. I think she did some photos of Raef's wedding perhaps and they were stunning.

    Hi Fluffy

My Daughter Samantha is an amateur A'Level photography student (aged 18) who has an eye for detail. With have Canon EOS 450D with lenses that she can and has used. She hasn't photographed a wedding but seen enough of our wedding videos to know what to do. She has done plenty of studio work and model shoots. Please could you tell the date in May you are getting married as I would assist her.

All she would ask for regarding payment is whatever you are able to afford (if we can work out availabilty) Here's some of her work can show you some of her portrait shoots ?

Pls let me know. Tracey x

    Hiya

I think it may be easier if you post on the wanted forum, some people may not read this as the date in the subject title says May 2011.

    Welcome to Hitched BTW ?
