I keep trying to do a wedding report but every time I start writing things down it seems too negative but in my head and my heart the day itself was perfect (it is negative in the sense that I was really ill for three days leading up to the wedding having had a major panic attack at work on the Wednesday that triggered the worst ever flare up of my IBS -never known pain like it before or since. I also had some stress from OH's family but it didn't stop us from having an amazing day (only minor things like his aunt complaining about her room being too cold amongst other things - I didn't care nor need to know!). Anyway, not going to get in to the ramble of negative but will share the positive and the best way for me to do this is with pictures and a quick summary!
Anyway, here is a quick positive run down of the day:
- I married my best friend......He was so worried about me in the days leading up but on the day it felt like all the stress just evaporated and we just kept smiling. We had a lovely first dance and later in the evening we really danced the way we use to when we first met (to loud rock music, singing at each other but not touching) - Lots of people were surprised at what a good mover he is as they had never seen him dance before.
- It was snowing when I drove to the venue early in the morning but as I got closer the sun came out and there was a rainbow which made me feel much calmer and my little brother said that I changed as soon as I arrived at the hotel (oddly the IBS pain went altogether as soon as I got there and I was okay the rest of the day)
- My dad was there to walk be down the aisle! When he first saw me he really started crying, as did I - he said that he hadn't expected to feel like that but he was very proud. He did have a little fall on the stairs and cut his elbow just before we sat down for the meal and apart from needing a little nap, he managed to stay all day and enjoyed the party! We didn't do our father daughter dance though as I just felt too emotional to do it - he didn't mind and he was pretty knackered!
- My mum was beaming all day and even though she can hardly walk due to Rheumatoid Arthritis she pushed through the pain and she had a dance with me to Dire Straights and she danced with the children (as did I - i felt like a fairy princess with all the children wanting to dance with me all the time)
- All 3 of my brothers were very proud and impressed with the day - it was better than they had expected and even my brother who i don't always get on with told my youngest brother that it was the best wedding he had been to apart from is own - I take this as a big compliment!
- The food was wonderful, the staff were great at the venue and the party was amazing!
- We had an amazing day with the people we love and I get to spend the rest of my life and hopefully have babies with the most amazing man I know!
So, here are a few photo's:
