Here we go!
On Thursday we were running around like headless chickens. We had picked up the cake the day before luckily so that was 1 less thing to do. H2b's family arrived from down south and we headed to the rehearsal at the church but we were late (ops)The rehearsal went well and everyone commented that I seemed very calm and h2b seemed to be the nervous one hehe. I was feeling really happy and couldnt see any issues other than h2b's brother laughed when his middle name was said by the priest. That night we went for a meal with h2b's family which was lovely, we came back home and went to sleep (about two hours each too excited lol).
On Friday the best man arrived in town so h2b seemed to calm down a lot. We went shpping with h2b's family that day before heading home where i got ready to go stay with my family. H2b had gotten very nervous again by this point but best man did an amazing job keeping him calm.I could not sit still while I was at my parents, my nerves really kicked in and I think it was worse because h2b wasn't there. I kept sitting down then going into the kitchen, loking in this 1 cupboard but not getting anything out, then sitting down again (psycho moment). I just couldnt stay still. My Nan and uncle came to see me and wish me good luck for the morning, followed by my aunty arriving with the dress. She set up a manequin in my parents room and put my dress on the manequin with my tiara and veil. I was in shock, she had done so much work on my dress including adding straps because I was wrried I may have a boob malfunctionor be pulling the dress up all the time. She had taken the flower that was clipped to my dress a bit randomnly and replaced it with the applique's from the bottom of the dress were she had taken it up (Im a short Arse). It was sparkling and I was so happy. Eventually everyone had gone and Mum was adamant I should eat but I couldnt, in the end she frced some toast down me lol.I went to bed on a high, I spoke to h2b to say good night, he was relaxing with the best man so was feeling great. I lay in bed loking at the wedding countdown on my phone (sad aren't I). I was giddy when it slipped from 1 day to go to Today is the day! I eventually got to sleep at 2am.
I woke up at 6am on Saturday morning and looked at the end of my bed where the wedding flowers were and thought oh hell its today. I got up and sat downstairs alne watching tv, it was nice to have some time to just think. My parents and younger sister got up at 8am, everyone was excited. We all got ready to go to the hairdressers together and when we got there our hairdresser seemed just as excited as we were lol.My hair was done in half an hour and I was absolutely thrilled with it. Then we rushed home and it seemed like we had only been there ten minutes when the bridesmaids arrived, followed by the make up lady. My brother in law was with us and he bought some bucks fizz so we all had a little drink and some finger food mum had made. It was brilliant. The rest of the morning was a bit of a blur. I remember the makeup lady Claire asking me to check I liked my makeup, looking in the mirror and thinking "it still looks like me but I look so pretty". Not being vain just shocked Im normally such a plain jane lol. The girls all got changed and Dad got into his suit with BIL. Mum and my older sister got me into my dress and well wow! It was stunning and despite being a boned corset actually pretty comfortable lol.
I came downstairs in my dress and everyone said how beautiful I looked. Then the cars arrived, the front door opened, my BM's left and I started crying as I left the house. There was just something very emotional about leaving the family home. The driver of our car was lovely making me comfortable and laugh. The drive to the church was brilliant there were literally children cheering as the cars went past.
When we arrived at the church I desperately wanted to get in there and get married! I was holding onto my dad so tightly and actually asked him not to let me fall lol, the next thing I remember is seeing my h2b at the top of the aisle and then I was at his side. My lovely fiance started to cry when he saw me, all he could say was beautiful. He gained composure and we began the ceremony, an hour later we were officially married despite me nearly saying awful husband rather than lawful. Turns out I was 5 minutes early for my own wedding.
We left the church got confetti literally poured all over us, a woman walked past us with a dog who grabbed my veil and dress in its mouth and tried to drag me away lol. I could have killed it. A few pics in the church garden and at the local beach later and we were driven to the reception with a glass of champagne courtesy of our lovely driver.
The reception was brilliant, the best man announced us and I heard my new surname for the first time. We sat with our guests and had the buffet which was gorgeous. Our cake loked wonderful hubby told me after that the groom topper had fallen and his head had fallen off so the ushers had gotten super glue to fix him lol.
There followed a lot of dancing and laughing and many of our family said it was a wonderful day. We left at about 23:30 as we were exhausted. 2 days on we are very much enjoying being newly weds.
