Wedding Shrug...To have or not to have that is the question.

MrsRegantobe, 23 April, 2010 at 14:40 Posted on Planning 0 3

Good Afternoon all.

Looking for some advise really.

I'm getting married in November so i'm expecting it to be cold. Only thing is I really don't want to wear anything other than my dress!

Dress below:

So as you can see nice bare arms! Am I being just a bit daft? and maybe a tad dress vain? I know I can take it off I just want to have to worry about who to give it too.

Help.....

If it's not going to squeeze your budget too much I'd have it. I had a full length velvet coat to wear (spent longer looking for that than I did the dress I think) and my tog said he wished more of his winter brides had something because he's had terrible bother trying to coax relaxed poses/smiles from freezing cold brides. As it turned out I didn't wear the coat for most of the pictures as the adrenaline meant I didn't even notice the cold but I got a few shots done with the coat specially as I loved it so much.

As for who to give it to, I think I left mine in my room and sent my mum to get it for the outdoors photos. Afterwards it then either got put in a guest's room (maybe my room?!) or left on a chair in the hallway as we had exclusive use of the venue. If all else fails you could ask a member of staff to keep it somewhere safe for you.

I think if your budget allows it you should have one - it then gives you the option of wearing it - just because you have it doesnt mean you have to wear it but if you dont have it you cant wear it.

    hope this helps

    xx

I got married in February, and didn't wear a shrug. I had them for my BM's though as it was quite chilly but I honestly didn't feel the cold at all.
