Weekend plans

SophieM, 3 July, 2009 at 15:17 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 31

What's eveyone up to?

We're going out tonight for drinks at a random bar in Battersea, followed by yummy steak. Tomorrow will be yoga, farmers' market, chilling out and quiet night in. Sunday run, laundry, lying on bed reading.

We're going away for a couple of nights which I'm sort of not sure I'm looking forward to. Will grab a bite to eat on the way and go walking tomorrow followed by takeaway and dvds and other porn food then home on sunday.

Sophie and GW, your weekends sound fantastic!

Yay for the saltire being included!

I've got no plans at all this weekend, was hoping to go to a National Trust place tomorrow but don't think I'll be up to it so just a quiet weekend really.

    Enjoy all. ?

I suppose we should probably spend the weekend doing some packing seeing as we get the keys for the new place on monday. H is working on saturday though so I might do some knitting and try to have a lie in if its cooler than it has been as its making it hard to sleep.

My weekend is all about tomorrow. Going to see the start of the Gay Pride parade at lunchtime and then heading up to Regents Park for a picnic (we're going to be very British and brave it no matter what the weather) and then from there going to Wembley to see the Greatest Show of the year! I'm so excited today is going incredibly slowly.

    The Lion Rampant? Even better!

We're packing tomorrow and then driving up to Yorkshire in the evening, and then having a day or so at my sister's before my parents come down and we start our holiday proper.

Somehow I've led the cheering squad for hiring bikes all week for cycling in the forest where our car. Which is a bit odd as I don't like cycling very much. Oh dear ?

And I've said I'll do Go Ape which is even worse considering my fear of heights. ?

All in all, we just need R to be poxed and we'll have the perfect week ?

We're travelling up to my mum's tonight, really looking forward to seeing my baby niece again. Tomorrow will be a lazy day then Sunday I am doing Race for life. Sadly I've been suffering from severe back pain (suspected herniated disc) so will only be walking not running. I think that will be painful as it is but there's no way I'm pulling out now!

    Friday: beers and a pizza

Saturday: Shopping in Croydon (somebody is hoping the Monsoon sale will start), Yo Sushi!, garden centre, then a visit to my parents

Sunday: Church coffee rota, Southwark Irish fair (hopefully in the sun this year) then finishing planting out the balcony.

Was supposed to be going away, but have to work Saturday and it would mean staying sober-ish and coming back up to town.... So, bugger all really.

Next to nothing planned. Tomorrow I think my husband is going clothes shopping, which happens rarely enough to be a notable event. I'm also planning to do a "half birthday" for the children (they both have Christmas birthdays which is a bit rubbish for them), so shall make a cake and have bought a few presents. We'll probably go to the park or something.

Sunday- park/swimming/that sort of thing. Tea with my MIL in the afternoon.

In one hour and two minutes I'll be hitting the pub with workmates for birthday celebrations (not mine). I'm going to have one of the giant bowls of macaroni cheese and chips that this pub do so incredibly well (to celebrate losing 3 pounds this week).

We were meant to be going wild camping with a couple of friends in Glencoe but the weather has just turned a bit wild up here (torrential rail and thunderstorms) so I believe plans have changed and tomorrow will be a movie day on the sofa with MrH and the dog. Maybe go a big walk on Sunday if it's nicer and then take my parents to our fave Japanese restaurant in town. Can't wait!

Wine and DVDs tonight when H gets home. General saturday mooching, market visiting possible grandparent visiting. Sunday H has a gig with his jazz band in a lovely park in Widnes (anyone want details mail me it's a free one) so as long as it doesn't rain too much it should be nice but I think the PIL are coming so maybe not. A little yay me I'm graduating on monday from my masters and I'm a bit excited.

My weekend is Friday/Saturday so :

today - spent doing absolutely nothing. Its hotter than heck here today - 45+. I stayed indoors in the AC and watched movies : Priscilla, Queen of the Dessert; Frida and The Goonies. Summoned up enough energy to ring the delivery guys who are bringing me a seafood risotto as I type.

tomorrow - am going to try and get up at a decent time and go down the beach before it gets too hot. Ha ha. Then its a girly lunch with two friends to catch up on all their news and we are going to some nice bar that has a summer madness special on mojitos. Oh my. If I am sober enough I am on a date tomorrow night with a nice, but slightly dull guy - going to the movies and its his choice! I think its good to get his perspective on what I might like to see. :-)

sunday - back to work. But, we are now on summer hours, so I only have to work from 8.30am - 3pm so am going to try and go to the gym and beach after work next week.

It's something Ive wanted to do for ages but Ive always been to heavy. Now Ive lost 6 1/2 stone I thought it was time I did one.
My step dad died last December so I thought it would be a good idea to raise some money for the hospice he was in.

Thanks for the good luck wishes x

Wow - congrats on the weight loss and good luck for the skydive!

My weekend - I've just come back from a 5km run and have snarfed pasta and am mid-snarfing a beer. The rest of tonight promises wine and a film.

Tomorrow - shopping, mooching, then meeting my new bloke in the evening ?

Sunday - packing, before catching train to London for conference on Mon/Tues.

I've just got in from work, so the weekend starts here. It's our first weekend in 4 months without my sister (moved permanently to the Algarve this week) so will feel very quiet I imagine.

Tomorrow I'll have a lie in and swim in the morning (prob at the Lido) whilst H is at work. I also need to do some work on our vegetables - the tomatoes need staking and I need to repot our peppers which have outgrown their pots. I also need to try and control the cucumbers somehow ?. In the evening he's gigging so I'll be a SND with wine and Hitched.

Sunday we are celebrating our 1st anniversary (actually on Mon) with Brunch and wine at Vinopolis (don't tell H!). In the eve we'll probably eat somewhere nice on the South Bank ?

We still have no cooker so good excuse for eating out/takeaways all round!

Tonight I went to Malmaison with a friend, and had pan-fried chicken liver with garlic butter and brioche, followed by artichoke and rocket risotto, then lemon syllabub and strawberry salad. And wiiiine. All for £29! Between the 2 of us!!!

Tomorrow I'm going to Brighton and meeting my sis, her H and my niece for shopping, eating and a stroll along the prom prom prom tiddly om pom pon.

Sunday. Allegedly tidying up all the crap around me. But probably ignoring it yet again and watching trash telly as usual ?

Good luck for the skydive Josie.........!

Friday we went to Hyde park and saw Blur - who were fantastic. Then this morning we're getting a train back down to Cornwall and we're going to see Kasabian at the Eden Project tonight. And Sunday we will be driving back home with our friends who are already in Cornwall. I am tired already!

    Good luck Josie!

Yesteday I had lunch with my cousin then we went to visit my aunt.

Mr E is working an AFD today so mini E and I wll speak to my Dad via skype in an hour or two (which is totally messing with poor mini E's head as he thinks people live in the laptop) and then pop into town for some bits and pieces and spend the rest of the day trying to avoid the rain or sunshine depending which weather forecast is correct.

Tomorrow we may to to IKEA to try out mattresses but we may not. We really could do with starting to pack as we are moving house at the end of the month. We really need to sort and freecycle a lot so we may do that instead.

    Today: studying

Tonight: seeing friends, girly night in

    Tomorrow: studying
