At the moment I am reading Book 4 of the Rizzoli and Isles series by Tess Gerritsen, what an amazing author!

I thought I would "try" her out and so glad I did.

What are you reading?

I am trying to read Jewel in the Crown at the moment after someone leant it to me but really struggling with it. The writing style is terrible and seems to miss out any punctuation, meaning I have to re read sentences for them to make sense, it's driving me nuts!

I've just finished Rivers Of London by Ben Aaronovitch and am about to start Everything and Nothing by Araminta Hall - it's about a woman that seems ok and then turns into a complete fruit loop!

I've just started Jane Eyre - better late than never! Am really into it already.

Have recently read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak which I'd really recommend. Easily one of the most wonderful reads ever for me.

I'll have to investigate some of your recs!

I also love reading Karen Rose and Beverly Barton, all thriller/crime writers but they are so good at capturing your attention so you dont want to put the book down Smiley smile

I am reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Really enjoying it! Hard to believe its only set in the 1960s with their attitudes toward black people.

Have recently finished One Day and Room. Would recommend both - nothing too challenging for me!

I have a few on the go depending on my mood!

I am re-reading the Harry Potter series after going to see the final film and realising that I'd totally forgotten what happened in the books! I've just started Prisoner of Azkaban.

I've also got the Bill Bryson Australia book on the go, but I have to be in the mood for that.

When we went away last weekend, I took Confessions of a Weddign Planner by Tamryn Kirby which I've also read before.

My FSIL has also just given me the second book in the Brides series by Nora somebody. It's about a group of childhood friends who all have weddingy talents (photographer, cake maker, florist and planner) and live together in a house where they hold weddings. Completely frothy but I secretly dream of doing this with my FSILs one day (one is a cake maker, one is a florist, just got to find jobs for me and teh other one now!)

Meat by Joseph D'Lacey. Weird post-apocalyptic sci-fi horror where people are turned into cattle. I thought it was going to a pro-vegetarian rant, but it's actually quite an interesting read about hoe people justify the horror of cannibalism via religion, and how others struggle against the 'norm' and stick to their principles.

Oh I've read the first one of these! Nora Roberts? My friend sort of forced it on me and I thought it would be cr*p but I did really enjoy it! Nothing wrong with a bit of froth now and then hey! I read the one focused on the photographer. The weddingy parts were quite interesting too ?

That's the one! The second one is about the florist. Think I'll save that one for when OH is away on a football trip so that I can savour the girliness!

I read this on holiday in Italy this year. There was an old copy left in the place we were staying in that I ploughed my way through. I thought it was very interesting - I've never been to Australia. My H kept asking why I wanted to read it while we were in Italy ?

I've just finished reading David Mitchells latest novel The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet which is very good.

Not reading anything at the moment but I've just finished One Day and also The Shadow Wife by Diane Chamberlain. Enjoyed both but neither were very groundbreaking IMO.

I think Room is next on the list for me.

Currently working my way through 'A Dance with Dragons' by George R.R. Martin. It's the fifth book (or sixth if you count the 3rd book, which comes in two separate volumes, as 2 books rather than 1) of the Game of Thrones series, and all amazing. It's a bloody huge heavy book though so I'm making slow progress.

Yes, I have them and really enjoyed them.

The writing style isn't very sophisticated but I think a lot of that is down to the translation, as they were originally written in Swedish. The story gets quite graphic and violent in places but the ongoing character development is really interesting. I'm glad I read them.
