What do you have to do in the few days leading up to your big day?

2013_Bride_, 26 February, 2013 at 13:11 Posted on Planning 0 10

For me its;

- Pick dress up

- Colour hair

- Nails / Pedicure

- Waxing

- Dress Marquee

Might do hair colour the weekend before to free up some time!

Oh dear. Don't want to think about this one! I'm hoping to delegate...

    2 days before

    - Collect furniture and all the other bits we are borrowing from people
    - Finish off wedding cake
    - Collect food from storage (might need to do this earlier)

    Day before

    - Dump everything at the reception venue
    - Check marquees have arrived and decorate
    - Ceremony rehearsal
    - Begin bouquets/arrangements
    - Prepare endless salads
    - Pick up a load of other stuff I've probably forgotten
    - Probably wash my hair...

    The morning

    - Boys will decorate marquees/reception space, and set up furniture and games
    - Me, mum, BMs, dad and some friends will finish flowers and decorate church.

    Need to make a checklist.

Bluebell, will your marquee company not set up any earlier? Ours is being put up on Wednesday (Wedding Saturday) and they are just adding the finishing touches (guess this is lining etc?!) on the Thursday.

They probably would, but it will be unattended overnight next to a road so I'm not keen to put everything in there/decorate too much, although we could do the bunting and lights earlier. We have deliberately left lots of time on the day of the wedding too, we get married at 3pm so we have time to decorate and set up before decorating ourselves! ?

Its mostly just beauty treatments which I have just started to organise.

My wedding is on a Friday so 2 weeks before I need a haircut.

A week before I am going for a wax

At some point I will need to pick up the dress and suits

Monday I will do the seating plan and get my nails done

Tuesday I will get the fudge out to defrost and dye my hair

Wednesday I will assemble the fudge into the bags and tie with curling ribbon and get my eyelashes done. I will also lay everything out that needs to go to the venue.

Thursday morning I will go for a massage and then pack up the car and head to the venue for check in time. That night I am having a meal with everybody who is staying that night.

Friday (D Day!) Get ready (hair and makeup being done professionally) Drink a glass of champagne and make sure the room is tidy to come back to that night.

Due to the way my working week falls I am taking the wed, thurs, fri and sat as my days off so only need to take monday, tuesday and sunday as holiday. Back to work on the Monday for a week or so then we go on honeymoon.

I would rather have too much time so I can do things at a slower pace rather than not enough and run around stressing.

Friday - wax, get manicured & last date night with my fiance out for dinner before our wedding

Saturday - Pick up MOB & MOG bouquets, collect my wedding dress, collect the wedding cake, take them all to the venue & check into my hotel room. Drive all the way back home, pick up OH & drop him off at his mums. Get a lift with FMIL back up to the venue and stay there the night before the wedding. Oh and also, general freaking-out throughout the day

    Sunday - Get married!

I get nervous just thinking about it now.

Saturday morning- help Mum transfer wedding cake masterpiece and decor to the venue. Hour away.

Satuday afternoon- Pick up MOH and BM and take to Mum's. OH and our daughters will go to his parents for the night. We will be off to a local pub for dinner, and then back to mum's for spray tans, films and wine!!!! We're all staying the night at mum's.
