What habits really get on your nerves?!

MrsCoco, 16 March, 2011 at 14:56 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

I am finding myself irritated by the slightest things in my office today, and I was just wondering what things really grate on your nerves?

My pet hates are:

Loud food noises: whether people are eating with their mouths open, eating "noisy" foods or slurping drinks, this drives me insane!! Did you parents not teach you table manners?!

Constant sniffing: Get a tissue for goodness sake! I don't want to listen to you all day, nor to I want to catch your germs!

People who cannot keep toilets clean: How hard is it to get your tissue in the toilet/flush the toilet/pee in the toilet?! COME ON!!

I have someone in my office who leaves it on my chair. Seriously? Are you deliberately trying to piss me off? Cause if so, success!

Under breath humming. Not enough to make a real noise, just enough to irritate the chuff out of you.

    Whistling

I have been a culprit of these though.

Agree with the food eating - there is a woman at work I actively avoid sitting with at lunch for this reason.

My friend used to jiggle his feet in exams, making his whole body jump up and down, that's all I could see out the corner of my eye - I was always kicking his chair for that.

Loud typing - I am trying to read the most boring there ever (I type, as I sit in a deadly silent class typing loudly)

Finger nail drumming - stop it! you'll break your nails.

I agree with all of these! What an irritable moo I am!

I thought of a few more too (just to be even more irritable!):

People who click pens in meetings - I can't listen to your points while you're clicking that damn pen you twunt!

People who insist on calling you despite the fact they sit just behind you - get off your seat and come over your lazy so and so!

***DISCLAIMER: I AM A NICE TOLERANT PERSON NORMALLY....THE PEOPLE I WORK WITH BRING OUT THE WORST IN ME!***

Everything annoys me I am a miserable cow lol!

My boss coming over when I am eating/Hitching etc and obviously at lunch, he comes over, says 'I know you are at lunch but....' and then starts reeling off a list of work for me to do. Grrrr.

People standing right next to me when I am on the phone. Get lost and come back when I have finished.

Oh yes, the eating thing. Was sat in a weird 80's throwback pub in the middle of nowhere on a week day afternoon and there was only me and Ma and one other elderly couple and between the snorts and coughs and slurping and chewing coming from them, 4 tables down, I wanted to go and scream in their faces 'CAN YOU NOT HEAR YOURSELVES????????' it was totally gross. I was so relieved they left before our main course arrived.

As for the lunchtime 'I know you are on lunch....' thing, I usually say 'can I catch up with you when I'm finished my lunch' and smile sweetly in that 'go away no otherwise I might hit you' way. Idiots. The clue is in the sandwich/soup/chips in front of me.

People who, at work, keep asking the same thing over and over, when they know full well, because you're quite good at your job, that you'll let them know the answer/whatever when you have it. I.E keep coming out of a meeting to ask 'has lunch arrived yet' isn't going to make it arrive any quicker. It will just annoy the feck out of me.

Or those who keep coming in to your office to say 'is now a good time to go over x?' - er, no, like I said the last 6 times you asked, I'll buzz you when I'm good to go. now FECK off. Dullard.

Why can my teenagers shoot the enemy at a million zillion miles on xbox but can't pee in a hole the size of their head without peeing all over the seat, then just leave it there ffs

Agree with the noisy eatting, esp when people stand next to you and eat

my hubby who has to tell me when he's going to the loo, you're an adult, i don't need to know, and i don't get seperation anxiety (although maybe he does this so he doesn't get blamed for the wet toilet seat ?)

people who hint, if you want something ask!

not really habits, just things that annoy me ?

When people put toilet rolls the wrong way round on holders - surely everyone knows the toilet paper should hang down the front of the roll and not the back!

Nose-picking - drives me insane! My OH does this, and I keep nudging the tisses over to him, but he never takes the hint.

Stupid laziness - such as using the last of the milk and then putting the empty bottle back in the fridge. My work colleagues do this all the time, or they send stupid emails around saying "whoever goes to make a drink next needs to take Tea/Coffee/Sugar down" or "there's no coffee in the kitchen" followed by "there is now coffee in the kitchen but no sugar". Just get off your bum and fill the blinking pots up yourself!

People who make a simple cup of tea or coffee and manage to spill water, milk, sugar and coffee all over the worktop and then just leave it for the next person.

People who can't seem to figure out that you need to flush a toilet after you have used it - it's really minging to find your little deposit waiting for me when I'm desperate to go.

People who become fidget-knickers when they're in the cinema/theatre - just sit still, please or I'll tie you to that damned chair!
