...anyone has chosen their dress? I have a feeling it may be a drawn out process especially with my decision making!

Do you mean from actually starting shopping? Smiley smile
My dress is the 3rd I've tried on., tried on 2 after it and they didn't compare for me so I spent about 40 mins in the shop.
And completely stopped looking at any other dresses apart from B2B's on here incase I get wobbles haha x

I worried it would take me months as I am so indecisive, but I bought the 5th one I tried on! Trust me, when you put on "your" dress, you will know and there will be no hesitations Smiley smile

I knew my dress was the one before I even tried it on. I tried on about a further 15 but it was always this one

I'm glad mine wasn't a quick decision. You're only planning on doing it once so why rush?

One dress shop lady told me that people often buy the first thing they try on as they're so overwhelmed at seeing themselves in a dress. I thought I loved the first dress I tried on, until I went back to it and realised it wasn't right.

It can be really quick, especially if you narrow your choice to a style or two, fabric, colour tone etc.

I'm not an advocate of The One. There are so many bee-yooo-ti-full dresses out there. I'm still not sure my dress is The One, and I've been married 2 months ?

20 minutes for me! Admittedly I had looked at it a few times online but I was pretty done in twenty mins when I had the appointment :-)

This. I chose what I thought was the perfect dress for my shape / style etc but I had my heart set on a tea length style, wasn't to be though and didn't suit me at all.
I didn't even make an appointment I dropped into a shop with my Mum and 3 dresses later ordered it in. 2 weeks to order one is plenty of time Smiley smile

I agree with this! There's millions of gorgeous beautiful dresses, all of which I could/ would fall in love with and would be the one! Like 'Matthewsmummy' I fell in love with the one that just suited my shape so much! It was my first shopping trip with my Mum, never thought in a million years I would get something that day! It was the 5th dress I tried on and it just felt like 'my' dress as soon as I put it on :o) Think I might have disappointed my bridesmaids and friends as they wanted to come and see me try loads of dresses on!

The first 2 dresses I tried on were really not nice on me at all! Then tried on a couple that were nice, but that's all and then my one. I tried another one on after but I don't know why I even bothered because I'd already made my decision.

Everyone's different I suppose. Some will find theirs in the first one they out on, some the 100th! :o)

As soon as I saw my dress I knew it was the one, it was the first dress I tried on and I bought it just 2 weeks after I got engaged! :-)

Well, I think I'm going to have to have mine made; tried a few on for shapes, but nothing really grabbed me, although I've only been in one shop so far. I find it quite hard to visualise dresses as they were all too big for me and I had to be pinned in like crazy - I was also wearing their shoes (didn't think to bring heels!) which were 4 sizes too big, so I felt like I was in fancy dress a bit!

I have a feeling it'll be a long drawn out process for me, too! Smiley tongue

I found my dress in a couple of weeks but I had already tried on loads and narrowed it down to the style. I happened to stumble across the perfect dress on the internet and tried it on the day after and it was perfect for me.

Mine was the first one I saw in a magazine. I assumed it would be ridiculously expensive and non existent in "real life" but it was on display in the 2nd shop I went in.

I first saw my dress in a magazine before I was even engaged when looking with a friend for her wedding dress. It was the first one I tried on. I tried on others after just to make sure but went straight back to that one every time.

Im still looking, I tried a few on in February just to have a look at styles, I thought I'd found the one but whenever I look at the photos of me in the dress I feel repulsed!! Good job I dont get married til August next year huh!! Ive been looking again and actually found THE dress, you may have seen in a few others posts about. Its a pronovias dress called Octavia. I felt amazing. Thing is I nearly didnt try it on, the woman in the shop had it on a mannequin and said the other one that was similar to it would probably suit me better. I asked her to try the original one afterwards. I didnt feel the pop straight away but added a sash belt, veil and a lacey thing that coveres my decolletage and has a key hole back and knew it was the one. I felt the pop. I didnt want to leave the shop. If it wasnt for £1700 price tag Id have bought it. Im now manically trying to save some money so I can afford it.

I researched dresses for a couple of months before deciding to go to a shop to try some on. I thought I knew the style I wanted but when I went to the shop on the advice of the shop assistant I tried on about 5 different styles.

I ended up with a completely different dress to the one I thought I wanted, and it happened to be the very first one I tried on!

THIS ^^ I don't really believe that a dress chooses you and not the other way around. My dress is the one that I fell in love with when seeing it online and in the shop window. It was the first one I tried on, I tried on other dresses - maybe around 15 more and there was one that I really loved however I wanted to make changes to it so for me it wasn't the one even though it did give me a giddy feeling just like the first dress. As soon as I tried my dress on again, I knew it was the one. I chose it because it was what I had pictured myself wearing walking down the aisle, I felt special in it and it suited me perfectly.

    Good luck and happy shopping!!!

I feel like mine might be a drawn out process too! I'm normally very good at picking out dresses for myself.. but I think just because they are all so beautiful, and I keep thinking, but what if there is one that is better?? Lol.. I think I'm going to go mad by the end of the process! Plus I am actually really enjoying trying all these different dresses, the ladies in the wedding dress shops must have the patience of a saint!!

I've only actually been in two shops so far, and have tried on a fair few in each! Though in some ways this has been good as I have a much clearer picture in my mind of what I like. The last shop I went to I found two that I really liked and made the ones in the shop before seem rubbish! I can't even remember the first shop's ones now! Both quite different ones, but there was a couple of things about each that I was thinking, this is not perfect. Like if I could change the detail on the train, or if the neckline was different.. So I think I will keep trying, as I am sure like everyone says, when you put one on that you don't want to take off, then it's the one!

My friend went shopping with her sister in law on the same weekend I went to my second shop, and she found 'the one' in her first shop! I know so many people like this, sometimes it's the first dress they try! Mine will probably be about the 100th!

    xx

I saw it on the rail and knew it was a me dress, tried on about 6 others and when it came to that one it was perfect, ordered it there and then.

This is good...I worry that I will have tried on about 50 and will still keep thinking is there something better? I hope it will be simple and quite quick! Although I can't wait to start shopping!

On a different note, cass_b - are they your kittens in your profile pic? They are adorable! x
