What is your middle name?

Clairy, 7 October, 2008 at 15:15 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 117

Do you ever use it? Do you like it?

Mine is Michelle. TBH I have no feelings about it either way. However, I am hopeful of some corkers on this thread ?

I quite like it as it makes the rest of my name sound better!

My middle name is R-A, which is the name I use. (It does have some other letters in it too, but 'Rah' is what I'm mostly called)

My first name is Katharine which is OK, I guess, I have no feelings towards it, apart from annoyance that my parents never called me by it so I've had to spend my life explaining to jobs, bank, etc that I don't actually use it.

    Winifred. ?

I have a W. on my bank cards etc but never use it otherwise. I'm still scarred from a teacher at school reading out our names as they had to be written on our exam papers. Everyone laughed. A lot. ?

I don't have one, I#m the only one out of 7 of us that doesn't. When I was about 13/14 I decided my middle name was Sigourney as in Sigourney Weaver. i even used it on my boots advantage card ?

That's not very masculine is it? I don't use my middle name, what would I use it for exactly? I do like it though, I like my christian name and my middle name, I have my parents to thank for that.

Mine is Kimberley - which I don't mind, however the background to it is awful. My older bro didn't want a baby sister/brother, he wanted a dog. And not just any old dog, he wanted my parent's friends dog. Yep - Kimberley the Yorkshire Terrier. Named after a dog ?. At least the doctor asked if it was after the diamond mine.

My middle name is Angharad, which I love and prefer to my first name (Abigale) In secondary school I decided that I wanted to be called Angharad by the teachers but it didnt last long as they assumed I was called by the first name and I was stuck with Abigale, I shortened it to Abbie which I much prefer, when I was about 13.

I don't have one. My parents stuck me with Jacqueline* as a first name and a godawful surname, so I am quite relieved that they stopped. My mum was not pleased when I shortened it to Jackie.

*No offence to other Jacquelines but I found it really hard to spell when I was little and have vivid memories of the teacher wearily telling me that Q went AFTER the C. I was the only person who couldn't spell their name which was traumatic when I was little!?

I don't have one. Neither does my sister, nor my mother, although my auntie uses hers as her first name.

My mother doesn't believe in middle names, apparently. They are for people who can't decide what to call their children.

If my mother says she doesn't believe in middle names, does one die?

I DO believe in middle names, I DO, I DO!

And my Evie's middle name is Margaret. Perfectly decent name if you ask me, I was tempted to make everyone call her Peggy.

Oh I know how traumatic it can be, I was in a similar position with a humungo name to learn how to spell (Abigale Angharad Prescott-Tiencken) I used to be in tears when my mum was teaching me to spell my name. Why couldnt I have been Sue Jones or something?! lol

Mine is Cecilia because of the catholic thing about having a saints name within your name. Cecilia was the saint of musicians, I can't even place a recorder? I don't mention my full name often...

    Daisy. Like my first name.

Actually, when I was about 17 Mum confessed that she meant for me to have a middle name, but they just forgot, and had I had one it would have been Romaine. Which sounds lovely in Mum's accent.

I don't have one but my 2 brothers have them. Can't remember about step/half brothers. they are twins and my mum always said my dad named them after the 2 people in the world he loved the most. Dalglish (after Kenny Dalglish) and himself (his own middle name), Ferguson.

I always wanted a middle name, if I ever have children, I'm thinking about giving them my surname as their middle name but don't want them to have the mickey taken out of them, like I did. ?

H and I have two each which we both agree is too many. My parents wanted to give me a selection incase I didn't like my first name. Unfortunately I don't really like any of their offerings that much and trying to get people to change what they called me would be so difficult, so I just use my first name and abbreviations thereof.

My middle name is Jane. I have no strong feelings either for it or against it. I love my first name though (Vanessa) and I think it goes well with Jane.

I used to go to school with a lad whose middle name was Dicky-Dora. Seriously.
