What perfume did you or plan to wear on your wedding day?

atlonglast, 17 November, 2010 at 22:40 Posted on Planning 0 36

I wanted a new scent for my wedding and honeymoon. Me & H2B decided to make it our gift to each other. So everytime we wear it in the future it will remind us of our special time together.

It has taken me ages to find something i like.

I have chosen the Flower Bomb perfume. I love it and it should be here by Saturday.

So just wondering if anyone else has bought a new one for their wedding?

I love this idea! Scent is such a strong sense, and it will be lovely to have a smell which takes you back to that day.

Definitely going to do this! Though as yet have no idea what either of us would pick!

Is your scent very different to what you would normally wear?

I usually go for a lighter floral type scent. This is sweeter but so so nice, not sickly at all. Everytime we were in town we would have a look and try one to see if it suited and lasted etc... Probably took me about 3 months to choose one.

I cant wait to wear it. x

Funnily enough I was at the annual conference for women in business in Gloucester today and met a lady who helps you to design scents both as a hen party workshop or for brides to develop their own scent. I absolutely love this idea and will be telling my clients about it. You could then also give 'your' scent as a special pressie to your bridesmaids and mums!!

Im still looking for the perfect one.

I wear perfum everyday ..but I want this one to be special..something I would be buying just for the wedding that I wouldnt normaly buy.

I cant even ask for recommendations cause I tried that at the perfum shop and didnt like the ones they were saying they had for their weddings...ooops.

Well we do all have diffrent tastes....Im hoping I find something soon.

I will be wearing my favourite scent which is Angel by Thierry Mugler... I LOVE it... My OH bought me a gift pack the other day especially to put away for the wedding which is a travel size bottle of Angel together with shower gel and body lotion so I can smell of Angel all over.. It is a strong musky smell but I just cant do without that scent on our day!

I used to wear perfume every day until I met my OH. He has an extrememly sensitive nose, he sneezes - or worse, get a nosebleed - when he gets too close to certain scents. He can't even walk past Lush unless he holds his breath!

So I only wear a hint of scent on spacila occasions now. But I will be spending the next few months trying new scents for the big day - something light and floral/oriental would be good, no vanilla or musk though. I'll have to start hunting...

I wear l'eau D'issey by Issey Miyake usually. I'm quite tempted to have one made by Ormonde Jayne otherwise I'll probably just wear the one I wear every day. At least the smell will be familiar and reassuring to us both when I rock up to the end of the aisle!

I wore Aqua di Gioa by Giorgio Armani. Also now reminds me of the wedding. I did consider going for something different but I love it and my husband bought it for me so it was a no brainer.

I know - still sounds very weird. I can't really say husband out loud without pulling a funny twee face so usually just say his name! I will get used to it eventually I hope!

I think it's lovely! We stayed with recently married friends this weekend and each time they said husband or wife they laughed!

Had not even thought about it but I think it might not be a task for H2b as he has no sense of smell whatsoever!!! I could be wearing eau to pig *** and he would not notice!! He also looks perplexed when he does a stinky fart and i run out of the room gagging!

I am going to wait until the Summer 2011 perfumes come out and then have a completely new one for the wedding, I like the idea that it will remind me of the day when I wear it again then. Although I do really like Rock Princess by Vera Wang so that is a possibility.

My regular perfumes that I wear are Lola and Daisy by Marc Jacobs, Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf and Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne, and I buy the Escada summer one every year.

OH and I discussed this - I asked if he would like something he knew me for or something new for a fresh "wedding smell", he went for the new option.

I can't wear "sexy" smells, I like them fresh and bouncy... if that makes sense!? So shamefully, I have gone for Avril Lavigne's new smell "forbidden rose" - not too heavy but rather sweet. I am prepared to be mocked for this though when it comes out to my BMs.

Sian is so lovely. I am going to her premises in a couple of weeks to discuss the option of me designing a 'Finesse' scent that I can hand out to brides at wedding exhibitions. I love the idea of having my own personal scent!!!!

I wore monsoon (perfume & shower gel), funnily enough I haven't used it since our wedding as my skin has turned a bit allergic to perfumes...veh odd.

1 tip ladies (although a couple have mentioned it) buy a perfume that has matching moisturiser/shower gel and then the scent will last even longer and will also be constant rather than very strong at the beginning of the day, then hardly there at all towards the end.

I bought the gift box version which came with the shower gel and body moisturiser. It was actually a really good price, £48.50 for the gift box or £45 for the same size purfume with no extras.
