Where are Summer 2012 B2B at????

Hi Hitchers,

I just fancied an update with were Summer 2012 brides are at with there planning.

We have

Church Booked

Venue Booked and Deposit paid

Catering included in Venue

Photographer booked awaiting contract

Think I have settled on a florist, still deciding.

So trying to decide what to tackle next........

    Got the tog...need to pay the deposit in the next few weeks

    Booked the make up artist

    Got bridal jewelery

    Know where we're getting the BM dresses from

    Know where we're getting the invitations made

    Got our DJ

    Can't think of much else brain freeze

    When is everyone going dress shopping??

    I'm thinking of going in May/June

    Am a June 2012 bride and so far have the following booked/sorted

    Chruch - booked, deposit paid

    Venue - booked, deposit paid

    Cars - booked, deposit paid

    tog - booked, deposit paid

    Wedding singer - booked, deposit to be paid this week

    Invitations - booked, ordered, deposit paid (table plan will come along with these next year)

    Wedding dress - Decided, deposit paid and should be in the shop January!! EEK!!

    Mens suits - booked, fully paid

    Bridal party - sorted

    Bridemaid/Best Man gifts - started to buy bits and pieces

    Colour scheme/theme - sorted - NEW YORK Theme!!!

    Still to sort....

    Bridemaid dresses

    Centrepieces

    Flowers

    Can't think of anything else?!?! x

    Hi Rebecca. I want to lose some weight before I start trying on, so I think I will wait until August time. Hopefully I wil lhave lost some weight by then, to give me an idea what I will want for my wedding day.cc

    Hi Lianne. Oh tell me about it, I have not got a clue. I visited two florists last week and parked myself in their shop and told them I know nothing about flowers and I dont know what I want! Ha, they didnt really have much to go on!

    Wow you are very organised Sarah! Kinda wishing I hadnt asked now, as it makes me panic. Just being nosey, what are you incorporating in your New York theme. We went there on holiday 18 months ago and both LOVED it. xx

    Wow, you guys are really organised!

    I only seem to be attracting last minute orders at the moment, not that I am complaining as keeping me very busy!

    ha!! Did you get anywhere with it in the end? My problem is that i change my mind so often, i dont think i could decide yet. Also, wouldnt have a clue as to what is a good price or not!

    Uh Oh! Can I say we haven't done much!

    We're planning to book the venue at the weekend, and also book the caterers the following week (as we've already discussed what food and service we are having)

    I have a zillion mood boards for our theme, and loads of ideas.

    I'm going dress shopping on 21st April and can't wait!!!

    bought my dress

    sorted favours

    website built

    need to still sort suits,table plan, bridesmaids, shoes and tiara, think am booking my florists on sunday.

    So overwhelming but still 14 months to go Smiley smile I feel inspired now by seeing how organised you all are Smiley smile

    Another organised (and slightly OCD ?) person here, with just under 17 months to go, I have:

    - Booked church and venue, photographer, florist (& chosen flowers), cake lady, caterers (& chosen food), ice cream cart ?, DJ

    - Had engagement shoot

    - Bought rings, dress, shoes, tiara, OH's suit, flower girl dress, bridesmaid dress plus various other items of decor inc tablecloths, napkins, lanterns, pink glass bowls, vintage suitcase for card box, photoframes

    - Made garter, ring cushion, bunting, STD's, put together our wedsite

    - Decided on design for invites, table names, readings and music

    Still got a fair bit to do mind you, but think I'm going to have to make a proper list as I keep forgetting it all, lol! Then maybe I will have some idea what to tackle next as I'm a bit stuck at the moment!

    Wow some seriously organised brides here! I'm half organised, in that we have:

    • Church: Booked, deposit paid
    • Reception venue: Booked, deposit paid
    • Photographer: Booked, deposit paid
    • Cake: Supplier chosen, just going through designs at the moment
    • Florist: Supplier chosen, meeting in a couple of weeks to talk through options and look at ideas
    • Dress: Ordered, half paid
    • Tiara: Bought
    • Veil: Material and kit waiting for a rainy day for me to make!
    • Shoes: Bought, but corsages need to be made with above material
    • Invitations: Making mock ups at the moment to see what works and what doesn't. All text etc is done though so just a case of putting it all together

    Think thats everything! Anything not on the list hasn't even been thought about lol.

    Wow I've barely done anything compared to you guys! I'm an august 2012 bride and have done the following:

    * booked ceremony and reception venue & deposit paid (all one place and catering is included so just need to choose the menu 8 weeks before)

    *bought my dress and its hanging in my spare room (it keeps calling my name and saying "try me on holly!" I must resist)

    *ordered our save the dates magnets - should be here in about 2 weeks

    *mum is doing my flowers and cake - still need to decide on what to have

    *meeting the videographer in April to view some samples and if happy book him up

    *bought scatter crystals for the tables

    *decided on our stationary design and am making them myself

    Still have loads to do but next on our list is the tog which we are hoping to look at in April then the list goes on from there lol

    We're August too, but not done very much so far since we are living in Czech Republic and only booking things on weekends home.

    I've got:

    My dress - ordered & paid

    Bridesmaid dresses - ordered & paid

    Venue/catering - booked & deposit paid

    Tog - booked & deposit paid

    Piper - booked & deposit paid

    Tiara - ordered & paid

    Bridesmaid shoes - ordered & paid

    evening invites - ordered & paid

    Right now we are looking for a band/singer/dj or the like, but will need to wait until we're home again to book as I'm defo not booking based on demo tracks

    Hi all ?

    I'm another June 2012. So far have

    Church booked and date etc

    Reception sorted (waiting for her to send amended contract before signing and paying deposit)

    Cake maker sorted but not decided on design yet (my aunt)

    Make up artist (my cousin)

    My DJ (Family friend)

    Have decided on the style of invites wont order till next year though

    Have bought my dress (saw it for a bargain price and snapped it up! Need to slim down a little bit but have ample time)

    Videographer booked just need to pay depoist

    Think that's about it for now

    Photographer (A friend)

    Chair covers sourced and depoist paid

    Florist

    Bride Transport

    String Quartet

    Wedding rings picked and deposit paid

    Hair & Make-up lady booked

    Hotel for first night provisionally booked

    What I have left to do is a long and ever-changing list of things!! I think I'm almost there with deciding on a colour scheme/theme, which I hope will make it a bit easier to bring all the little details together and give me a better idea what else I need to sort!

    he he I kinda of got carried away once i'd done a couple of things!

    With the New York theme - firstly it came about as this is where we got engaged last October and both love the place, we have hired Yellow New York cabs for our cars, our invites (see below) have the New York theme printed on them, our Table Plans will have the imprint of our New York invites on the top and a cut out sky line of New York running along the bottom, tables are being named after places in New York and rather than having favours we are having Apples!! - these are are doubling up as name places (were going to have heart shaped name tags on the apples), our cake (which I forgot to add onto my list - we've not got yet but know who is making it) where thinking or a 3 tier cake with a New York cab on the top. As favours for the Bridemaids and Best Man, flower girls, we have Bloomingdale and Maccy bags and are putting in New York Perfume/Aftershave in and a few bits and pieces.

    I think that's about it on the theme front - didnt want to over do it! (hope ive not!!!) just wanted to in-corporate it into our day.

    Oh and 1st dance is now going to be New York by Alicia Keyes (withour the rapping part!!) he he

    And I though i was being organised... for June 2012

    Church booked, although I need to move the time forward 30 minutes

    Reception venue booked, deposit paid. Need to discuss exactly what's included - especially glasses and table settings/linen. I know that they include cutlery and crockery, but not serving dishes, but not sure if they include actually setting the tables and glasses.

    Photographer booked, deposit paid

    Caterers booked, basic menu picked, will need to sort children's menu and special people as I get the info!

    Cake supplier sorted (me), need to practice some decoration techniques/designs to see what will work though. The taste tests have been done (2 christmas cakes and one cake for a party.

    Favours sorted (I'm making them) and probably the organza bags to put them in - need to make sure my ideas are feasible and taste test.

    My dress: Looked at loads, like some more than others, but going to talk to a dressmaker as well as none are quite perfect, although I would quite happily get married in at least 6 of the dresses I've tried.

    Bridesmaids dresses - turning into a nightmare, what I want doesn't seem to exist in the places I've tried. All the bridesmaids dresses I've seen are too fussy, and are strapless, and I don't really like dresses with optional straps - dresses that are designed to have straps seem to look better. It's not even a colour issue, I just don't like the cut. Colour needs to wait for my dress anyway

    Flower girls - Monsoon or Debenhams looking good for now, or a dressmaker - they are a recent addition to my plans...

    Band - working on it at the moment - wanted to get venue, caterers and photographer sorted as they are the big ticket items and band could have been dropped if necessary.

    Flowers - awaiting a decision on my dress as my ideas will be a lot more organised if I have my dress and colour scheme sorted.

    Save the dates - being sent out at the moment - postcards of my venue from the local tourist information office!

    Invites - we're designing and printing them with a line drawing of the venue. Also diying table plan and place cards.

    bride stokings,garter and shoes brought

    cake topper brought

    bride earringa and necklace brought

    gifts fot MOG,MOB,bridesmaids and maid of honour brought

    off the top of my head i think thats it for now ?

    ETA brought botton holes and corsages too

    Cake kind of sorted, mum is making it

    Flowergirl tiara brought

    Save the dates sent

    Favour / Activity bags for kids brought

    Ummmm think that's it.

    Ok here I go lol!

    We have booked:

    venue & registrar - deposit paid

    Catering & drinks included with venue

    Photographer - deposit paid

    DJ - Deposit paid

    Hair Stylist - free (my cousin is bm and hairdresser so doing all hair)

    Cake sorted - my mam is making it as she is qualified. (all decor bought)

    Florist - deposit paid

    Bridesmaid Hairpieces - bought

    Table decorations - bought (i.e cameras, cake boxes, bubbles etc)

    Still need to:

    Get BM dresses & accessories

    Get suits

    Rings

    Invitations

    Honeymoon (haha)

    Prob loads ive missed out but cant think now xxx

    I have pretty much done the standard things, here is mine so far:

    Venue Booked - Deposit Paid (includes Ceremony, Reception Drinks, Wedding Breakfast and Evening Reception Buffet)

    DJ Booked - Deposit Paid

    Honeymoon Suite Booked - Deposit Paid

    Registrar Booked - Deposit Paid (can only do 12pm which I am dissapointed with)

    Tog Booked - Deposit Paid

    Flowers Booked - Deposit Paid.

    Bought: Wedding Shoes, Something blue, bridesmaids & best man gifts, wedding book and insurance

    I too have been very organised, for a range of reasons.

    Getting married 16.6.12

    So far we have:

    - Booked venue and paid deposit

    -Provisionally booked the Registrar date and time

    -Bought and paid deposit on my dress

    - Sorted out Bridesmaid dresses

    - Booked and paid for flowers in full.

    - Sort of decided on what we would like for the cake.

    -Booked and paid deposit for TOG

    -Booked and paid deposit on the DJ

    -Bought my Tiara

    -Made a start making invitation drafts

    -Organised and bought favour materials

    -Purchased some wedding party Thank you gifts.

    I'm inviting myself into this thread too, even though i'm a March 2012 bride!

    Some of you are so organised!

    So far we've:

    Booked venue and paid deposit

    Booked registrar and paid deposit

    Booked photographer/videographer and paid deposit

    Bought flower girl and bridesmaid dresses

    Ordered my dress, veil and side tiara and paid half

    Bought Save The Date's, just waiting for some sticker things before we can send them

    Next on the list in to find a florist, so far I have one appointment booked!
