I am from Manchester originally went to Newcastle for university, then moved to London for a long time and l now live in Essex. I have been quite home sick lately which is weird after 15 years. I am hankering after a nice terrace in Chorlton or Withington. Where are you all from originally?

Oggers and RRuby, whereabouts in Yorks are you from?

I was born and raised in a village near Skipton, N. Yorks. Went to Durham for uni and travelled a bit but always called Yorkshire home until I met hubby. Moved in with him near Scunthorpe (horrible place), then emigrated. Now in Waihi on New Zealands North Island. Love love love it, but it's a long way from home. Had some mega homesickness since coming back in August.

My mum has lived in 3 houses in her entire life and you can walk from the first to the second to the third and back to the first in 40mins. Sometimes i think that's sad, sometimes i really envy her.

I get what you mean. My family either live abroad or in Manchester. Mr Erin's family are either in London, Kent or Ireland.

I'm Yorkshire through and through Smiley smile. Born in Rotherham, moved to Sheffield, then to Northumberland, then to Harrogate and now in Knaresborough. My plan was to always move to North Yorks as I love it here. Future plan though could be anywhere!!

OH is also from Rotherham, we were childhood sweethearts, and got together for real when he was living near Skipton and I was living in a village between Knaresborough and York.

Mine too. Her parents ’ house til my parents got married, then a flat for six months, then they bought the house they still live in now. I lived in that house til I moved out at 23 - I went to uni in Preston so had never moved until that point. I wouldn't say it's sad, I just tend to think of it as the way things are done in northern working class families. Almost all my family still live in Preston, and lots of my school friends live minutes away from their parents.

I'm originally from a tiny village in Cumbria, rolling hills, lake districts, buses than run every two hours if the drivers feels like it...

Now live in Nottingham (for the last 6 years) and ruddy love it!

Born in Germany (my dad was in the army and met my German mum). Moved to Reading at 2.5 weeks old and have been here ever since!

I'm very lucky in that W is a Manc born and bred and every single member of her family is still here (millions of them) ... so don't worry, you can bung yours in with ours for babysitting services! They won't notice an extra one or two!

Corby is like Kensington compared to Northampton! We even prefer to go to Wellingborough as it is the lesser of 2 evils!

Eastbourne. Moved to wiltshire when I was 10 due to a$$hole stepdads job.

Mrs Bass and Erin why do you like Bristol so much? I have visited a few times and always thought it was a bit of a dump ?

Bristol seemed very nice when I visited for a wedding recently. Bloody hilly though.

As my user name suggests, South Wales, specifically Swansea where I was born and brought up until I went to uni in Oxford.

I now live in South Oxfordshire, and work in that London.

I was born in Rotherham too! Then lived in various places around South Yorkshire before a brief stint in London and then returning to live in West Yorkshire for 8 years. Now in Hertfordshire most of the time and working in London. Can't see myself staying here long term. It doesn't feel like home to me. The jobs and pay are much better than we can get up north though which is sad.

I was born in West Yorkshire and moved down to a small town in Cheshire when I was about 2. It's a dump but I don't think h2b will ever move ?

I lived in a tiny little village called Glasshouses, near Pateley Bridge about 14 miles outside of Harrogate.

Sometimes I am tempted to go and move to the middle of nowhere (literally) but it would be too much of a faff with kids, a job, lack of things like gritters for the roads when you needed to get to work or the kids to xyz. Plus I am not sure I could live without mobile signal and Fibre and I would have to be uber organised with my shopping, cant just pop out for some milk if you run out!

I was born in Cambridge but grew up in Romford, Essex. Lived in London at uni and moved back there in my mid-20s, but have now relocated permanently to Copenhagen. I love it here, I don't think I could live or work in London after this ❤️

I was born in LA, grew up in a little village in Northamptonshire, moved to Aberdeen when I was 12, spent a year in France aged 18, went to Bristol for uni for 4 years, had to spend 6 months in Paris and 6 months in a little town called Forli in Italy as part of my degree, then Exeter for my MA, Cheltenham for a year, and now Gloucester.

Since I was 18 I have moved house 14 times, in just over 11 years. For the last 10 years or so I've been in the West Country and I think I feel pretty settled here. I have so much love for Bristol in particular, I always feel 'at home' when we pop down to visit friends or something.

My parents left Aberdeen a few years ago and moved to Wilmslow, so they're not a million miles away any more, but still a good couple of hours up the M5/6. We're going to visit them in 10 days which I'm really looking forward to, I haven't seen them since June.

Macclesfield (Cheshire) born and bred. All my Dad's side of the family still live here and my parents and inlaws are all a 5 minute drive. No reason to move, espcially now H has established a business here.

I hated it as a teenager but now I can see it is actually a really good town to live in.

Bridgnorth. Parents are still there. It's lovely but feels weird when I go back and meet people in the pub who I knew in primary school and have never left the place.
