We've bought pocketfold card and nice shiney paper from PDA card and craft, and then we're making it with nice daisies we bought on ebay that we're adding pearl stick-ons to their centres, and we're printing all wordings ourself onto the paper inserts.. At this point in time, we've designed it and bought everything we need - but its more mum whos doing the actual making as its all at hers so shes doing a few at a time.

    A few little tips !!!

Have a browse through the supplier directory on here, there is some fantastic companys on there.

Also try to think if you would like the print route or handcrafted route.

Do you have a lot of info to include (would a pocket style, chequebook style suit better if so and usually these work out more cost effective)

    colour sceme/theme

send off for samples, google images ia also great to view many different styles.

Do you want to make your own, many brides on here are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the materials.

Hope that helps a bit !!!

    Regards

    kirsty

I made my own - they weren't as posh or fancy as some but they got the point across!

My mum made ours using bits from Hobbycraft and pocketfoldinvites.co.uk which is a fantastic website - you can buy different card/envelopes one at a time if you want to experiment with colours and whatnot.

I'm planning to make mine (with some bridesmaid assistance!) but no idea how hard this will be yet... I've ordered a swatch from PDA to have a look at their colours but thats as far as I've got....

I too am lucky enough to have a graphic design assistant in the family who wants the experience/practice and so has offered to do all our stationary for the price of the card. She has posted me a copy of the finished invite today, so should be ready to send them out soon! Meant we got a completely unique design too which was fab.

I didn't even try and make my own, as knew they would be rubbish.

I used photo-fusion, and used a cute photo of me and my hubby on the front cover - they did an awesome job

I made my own, used this website -www.pureinvitation.co.uk

you basically build them online, then they are delivered for you to assemble.

I had 50 to make and it took my one Saturday, 6hrs to do them,

I'm making my own as cardmaking is my hobby. Hopefully it will still be my hobby after this project ?

I got white card blanks in the works and found I already had a suitable heart stamp in my stash so did a few testers and decided to do a purple heart in ink with glittery powder embossed over the top. Surprisingly OH thought the glitter looked better. I haven't totally decided on a theme or the rest of the invitation but that is enough for a start and I plan to do it in stages over the coming months so it's not too much of a task all at once.

I will probably just print off the writing for the inside and stick it in - I have some funky scissors so maybe cut it with those.
