I agree with MB. There's nothing you can do and you can pick your dress up going in and out if the car. You'll have to trust me that on the day, you really won't care. x

On my FSIL’s wedding day the weather was absolutely awful, the rain just didn’t let up at all. However some of the best pictures she has are the ones where they are sheltering from the rain in this beautiful arch way. The TOG done a fantastic job in making the best of the situation.

The weather should really be the least of your concerns to be honest. it's the one thing you can't change, so why worry! and your dress will inevitably get dirty as the day goes on! my H fell in mud on our wedding day and my dress had spots of mud all over it as a result. I didn't care on the day, and I look back on that as a really funny memory of the day!

    Ravioliruby- i LOVE your brolly!!

    Wahahaha!

Same as what everyone else said. You can't change it so stop looking and worrying. Take a brolly

If you wanted to guarantee the weather on your wedding day, why did you get married in the UK? ?

For what it's worth, we had rain the day before and the day after our wedding, but on the day it was beautiful blue skies.

My train still got filthy but I didn't care!

We got married at the end of October and we had a glorious day. (Weather was the least of my worries on the run up to my big day).

Im the same day as you and ive been checking the forecast aswell and changed so much since it first came up from thunderstorms to sunny and now showing as showers. I'm just keeping an eye on it for a plan for pics and where to get these done if we cant get outside.

Our photographer has umbrella's for us to use if it rains and he said they make great shots. Unfortuntely nothing can be done and you'll have a fantastic day regardless of the weather.

When you are getting out the car just pull your dress up if you can and walk into venue x

This is important. Don't let the weather ruin any chance for some good photography. Wet or dry, rain or shine, the dress will get dirty. Accept that and relax in to the day. At the end, its about getting married, not what the weather does. (And the dress will clean up later)

My daughter got married 3 month ago. It didn't just rain, it was really heavy rain all day. She had to hold her dress up walking up the church path and walk through the puddles. (The path was actually flooded in parts) I must admit there were tears in the morning, she was really upset, but I can honestly say it didn't spoil anything. She dried her tears and said she was going enjoy her day despite the rain. She got some lovely photos eg; ushers under coloured brollys, bridesmaids trying to jump the puddles and her husband carrying her over the puddles. Please please don't worry about it, it wont spoil your day. Good luck xx

It's 100% out of your control though, buy a brolly and don't worry Smiley laugh

I am the day before you and have completely disregarded the weather. Of all the things I have been stressing about that hasnt been one of them.

However, since this thread I have had a sneaky look at the weather forecast (not that I believe in them anyway!)

Rain or shine, it will all be fine ?

If anyone is notorious for getting things wrong it's weather forecasters so I wouldn't stress over it when you could be just enjoying the run up to your day. You could treat yourself to this little number:

...or else just get a nice new brolly and thank goodness than you had a bit more style ?

*DISCLAIMER* Sorry to anyone who has/had one of these - it may well be very stylish in some circles but it just really cracks me up each time I see it!

I didn't go to great lengths to get this for you, as you never come back to your threads and read the answers anyway, but here you go!

Weather is a chaotic event, not in the layman's sense of 'chaotic', but in the mathematical sense of 'chaotic'. Predictions for the next day are more often than not within a degree or so. Predictions beyond a week have a variation of +/- 6 degrees - it says 20 degrees, but it could be 14, it could be 26. No meteorologist will be confident of any kind of broad accuracy beyond three days.

Absolutely zero point in speculating on the weather for nine days time.

Whatever the weather does, you'll have a great day. If it rains it rains, there's nothing you can do about it, and a good photographer will just adapt to the situation. We had a wedding a few years back where the weather was bad and the bride really let it ruin her day, despite everybody trying to cheer her up. It was such a shame, and I wonder now if she looks back and wishes she'd handled things differently. Also your dress will get dirty, even if it's dry - I know mine did! Ali x
