So we just got engaged and with my job as a wedding singer , I have a lot of contacts in the industry so we have already booked our engagement party. So excited! I’m glad I found this app as I need a place to just offload sometimes. Plans are well underway but the issue I am having is with my own mother . I come from a very catholic family but over the years , we have see allot of marriages fail and my mother who was once all for me getting married and doing everything right is now the complete opposite. I am 35 with 2 children, house, business, car etc so I am marrying because I want to and not because I need to but she still seems to be worried about me getting married and trying to put a dampener on everything from my venue and church choice to who she thinks should walk me down the isle. I don’t know if it’s genuine concern or control but it’s really getting me down. Anyone else had anything like this happen

I’m really sorry this is happening, you shouldn’t feel bummed out but excited for the big day! Your Mums idea of marriage may have been tarnished a bit if you say there have been loads of marriages fail in the family. It might be coming from a place of concern, it’s finally your turn and she might feel a bit anxious as you’re taking the big step. I’d have a word with her, tell her what you’ve noticed and see what she says. You might get a better idea of why she’s behaving the way she is. Good luck and enjoy the run up to the big day! X

My mother wants me to do the big wedding ceremony then a big party my dad walk me down she wanted to plan everythin but i have always told her no so we are eloping friends and family found out lets just say we dont talk anymore x please tell your mum you appreciate all the help but you and h2b are doing it the way you both want and your marriage is going to be fine x💗
