Bikini / swimsuit for fatties.

Puss, 24 July, 2008 at 16:24 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 18

It has just occured to me that I am going on holiday next weekend for 4 days and again for 2 weeks later on in August. My current swimsuit is a very basic black one that I only put on when I dunk the brats. I would like something a little nicer for holidays where I am going to have to wear it more often (pity the poor public who has to witness that!). But I have no idea where to start looking for something. I like tankini's but they ride up and show the flubber belly, I am generally hideous and a size 16-18-20 depending on shop. I have big boobs, wide hips, big bum and big thighs and a post baby belly. Boobs need to be at least partially accessible to the smaller of the Mini-ps. General preference would be hide away in the flat / house but my parents and husband won't let me so that option is out.

Heeeeeeelllllp!

I tried this on in Bravissimo at the weekend. It was immensely flattering and gave me a fabulous hourglass figure. I'm tempted to buy it but my boobs are massive and I think the halter neck would put a strain on my neck after a while. It did keep my humungous norks upright though ?

? If I were you I'd go to Bravissimo and get a bikini that gives you really good support and has a high-ish waist to the bottoms, like this one http://www.bravissimo.com/products/swimwear/bikinis/free/halterneck-bikini-tops/fec2-details.aspx?colour=Yellow+Print It comes with a tankini top too so you'd have that option. Then get a sarong and/or a kaftan top to cover up when you're out of the water - there are beautiful ones at www.papillonbleu.com. Don't worry too much about it - no one but you really cares what size you are, so just focus on getting pretty clothes that will give you pleasure.

Ugh, I need to go bikini shopping soon too and I'm not really looking forward to it!

A girl in my aquaerobics class last night had a nice bikini on. It was cut nicely and supported her (large) bosom well! I asked her where it was from & she said Tescos - think I might have a look in there.

I need one where the bottoms are fairly high-cut to hold in my flabby post cs belly!?

I always get mine from SimplyBe. They do some good supportive swimsuits that help push in the jelly belly.

Just had a look but they only start at 14 so no good for me. I'm only a 10/12 but I have a yukky horrid post-baby belly (and slightly saggy boobs!)

I've got a zoggs one which allows for bigger bustage as well (I'm a size 20 with f cup norks) which I got from the pool where I do waterbabies. It's fab and would probably be quite easy to breastfeed with. (Amelia likes to try pulling it down on a regular basis although it's sturdy enough that it can't be).

is it I think. They do quite a lot of them at our pool in a range of colours.

no specifics but another vote for halternecks, esp tankinis. I'm a whale like size 20 with massive boobs (currently upduffed too) and I have a halterneck maternity tankini and it's by far one of the most flattering swimsuits I've had. Should be quite easily accessible boobs wise too.

    Hey lovely

I have just ordered one from Lands end, they seem to have loads of styles and give advice as to which ones will help with your 'problem' areas.

They're a bit pricey though (in my opinion) I have just spent £89 on one swim suit- I am in shock!

But Mr MF said if it makes me feel comfortable and more confident it is worth it xx

Hope you find something right for you xxx

Me too Clairebecky and I have really been battling with myself whether or not to buy it.

However, due to my recent surgery I haven't been able to find anything, the one I have ordered looks perfect, I haven't been able to take Mini MF swimming yet, hopefully with the right swimsuit I will have the confidence to do so.

I will also be wearing it to do the housework, weekly shop, long walks, just about everything as so I can justify the cost!
