Brown card for printing

laurafish, 23 April, 2015 at 09:45 Posted on Planning 0 12

After spending days trying to find what we need, it occurred to me that maybe someone here would be able to help.

We would like our invitations and probably all the rest of the stationery) to be printed on brown card, sort of a recycled style. I have seen a few people flashing their stationery with the sort of card that we're looking for, so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of where we can get this from?

I will be doing the design work myself - save the dates are done and ready to go - so just need somewhere that I can upload the artwork and get the print delivered. We've contacted vistaprint but they only offer white stock. A site like vistaprint would be ideal.

We did originally want to use a local printer that we know quite well, but unfortunately they've ignored or 'forgotten' about our request a few too many times now.

Last resort would be to buy the card, buy a printer and do it ourselves, but we would prefer to get it professionally done if possible.

Any ideas?

The card you're after is called Kraft card. I got all my card and paper from PDA Card and craft - they were super and will supply whatever you need, including cutting it if necessary. We bought a good printer, got it on a special deal at £70 iirc, and did everything ourselves - well that'd be me - I did it all lol. If you go down this route, and it does mean you can print everything exactly how you want, inlcuding individual named invitations, rsvps etc, make sure you get a printer that has a rear manual tray where you can slide the card in and it will take it flat. Most home style printers struggle to geet decent card through their rollers. Hand feed is slow, but means your card is nice and flat and print is crisp Smiley smile

Alternatively have a look on Etsy and Ebay - also look for local wedding stationery services through Facebook. Lots of people will be able to print what you want onto the card you're after. If there's a wedding fair nearby - you can often find people who do this at those.

We're using pure invitations and they have a printing service too. The prices are amazing!

Pretty sure I've seen the brown kraft style card on there too.

Thanks ladies, really useful. The Kraft name was on the tip of my tongue - really useful to have an actual name for it now so thanks for that! We hadn't thought much about printing ourselves but I think we will have a look into it, it's definitely an option.

Save the dates are what we're concentrating on now which are A6 flat, but we would want invitations, order of service etc etc, so lots of different sizes, some flat and some folded - a real mix overall.

Another vote for PDA card, we bought all our materials from them for our invitations, table names, and table plan. Faultless quick delivery each time!

When you call, you will be prompted to select the product category and then directed to a customer service representative who can assist you with your printer issue. You can check custom labels to get more info about printers. Be sure to have your printer model number and any relevant details about the issue ready before calling to help expedite the support process. You can also visit Brother's support website for troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and other resources to help you resolve common printer issues.

You might want to check online printers that allow uploading designs on recycled or kraft-style card. It’s a bit like how Prusa Slicer lets you prep files before printing—get your artwork ready, then just find a service that supports the paper you want.

I went through almost the same headache when we wanted that warm recycled brown card look for our invites, so I really get the frustration of being ready with designs and having nowhere reliable to print. What helped me was widening the search beyond classic wedding printers and looking at small online print services that already work with kraft and recycled stocks, because they tend to be more flexible with uploads and paper choice. I even stumbled across https://www.gambody.com/stock while researching print materials and production workflows, and although it’s focused on 3D printing, it actually opened my eyes to how many niche platforms care deeply about material quality and precision, which is the mindset you want from any printer. In the end, I found a UK-based digital printer offering brown card in different weights, with clear specs and proofing options, and the results felt thoughtful and well-made rather than rushed.
