Choosing songs for wedding dvd

So, less than 7weeks to go now and I need to choose the music for the DVD.

Looking for advice from OM's who had DVDs, did you choose music that was part of your day anyway, ie your ceremony music etc or choose totally random music that seemed to fit for the moment.

I think the trouble I'm having is it's hard to pick a suitable song before seeing the footage!

Also do I pick songs seperatley from each other or consider how one song might flow into another?

    We just chose songs we liked!

    Jack Johnson - Better Together
    Amerie - One Thing
    Chantal Kreviazuk - Feels like home
    Coldplay - Green eyes
    Jamiroquai - Half the man
    Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats
    Jason Mraz - I'm yours
    Corinne Bailey Rae - Like a star
    Badly Drawn Boy - Once around the block
    Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Over the rainbow
    Lemar - I believe in a thing called love (livelounge)
    Jamiroquai - 7 days in sunny June

    For the trailer however, the videographer chose something else entirely as he felt it "fitted"!!

    Exactly the same as Mrs C - we just picked songs we liked.

    I didn't think about how they flowed together.

    Thanks both! I think thats the direction I'll go in, give them a list of ones we like and let them work out what fits where!

    Just threw me as it wasn't on my to do list!!

    We also chose songs that meant something to us, we had our first dance song "Sweet Child of Mine" by Guns N Roses and then "Distractions" by Zero 7, "Songs of Love" by The Divine Comedy and "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zepplin - We wanted the last three on the dvd as we didn't have them at the wedding or reception. A couple of the lines were a bit dodgy but we love the songs so it was good to have them somewhere in our day ?
