Confetti

Emma, 24 January, 2022 at 23:04 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 6
What’s better - paper confetti or dried petal confetti? I feel like I’m overthinking this but I want a fab confetti shot and wondering what people think works best? Thanks!

I prefer dried flowers as feel it falls better, but is your choice. Do check with your venue as some are very specific, ours only allows real flowers and must be light in colour! If they have a set rule I would say you are best to buy it on and leave a small bag on each chair as even if you tell people to use a certain type they may not which could cause you a problem with the venue. If no restrictions then I would let people get their own, due to the restriction on ours it has ended up costing is £75, not a huge amount, but still a pain!

Ours only allows biodegrade-able so we’re having dried flowers

I’d say go with your gut!
Personally I love the dried petal look for the confetti shot but I’m marrying in the summer and my confetti shot will be in a wildflower courtyard, so it suits really well.

Some things to maybe consider:Is your confetti shot indoors or outdoors? What kind of background/scenery will there be? Are there certain colours you prefer or would match better? Does your venue have any restrictions on it (one of the venues we viewed allowed no confetti at all!)? Have you asked your venue what works well or looked at photos other by people have had there for inspiration?
Hope you find what’s right for you! Smiley smile

Ask your photographer. Ours asked if we were having a confetti shot and said she'd recommend confetti and, if we wanted, confetti cannons to buy for the best photos.

This thread the other week might help you https://forums.hitched.co.uk/chat/forums/thread/confetti-1075397/

A little note on the confetti cannons as some that I have seen have been full of plastic/ shiny confetti for which the venue may not take kindly to. They actually go a bit too high for the ideal confetti shot and can blow away before it hits the couple (unless you aim it at their faces Smiley xd )
