I was thinking of getting some comfy shoes to wear for the evening and Mr DB has already expressed an interest in getting some sneaker/pump type shoes to change into also.

Then I have seen you can get converse personalised!

I would probably wear them quite a lot afterwards as my job (I work in a lab) has a very casual dress code and most days I wear skinny jeans, a top and cardi. However, I have to wear full-cover shoes, so can't wear ballerinas or sandals in the summer, instead I wear these sort of trainer things.

Are they truely awful? Or are they truely awful for me, but H2B could get away with them?

Here is a flash of our very own Ozzy converse:

I think they're ace ... going to see if I can get a jade green pair for the evening.

Love the idea of the FG wearing them ... my two little ones would love them and I have chosen the same dress for them ... is that from Monsoon? xx

Yes it was from Monsoon. I let her choose it herself (I had gone in there previously, and she could have chosen any dress in there and she would have looked gorgeous). It's a really nice dress, and very soft and flowy, perfect for little people to wear.

Off the top of my head I don't know what shoe size she is. I don't know what size feet 2-3 year olds have, or what size converse go down to, I'll have to text her mum to find out!

*Mini* - I am not clever enough to multi-quote yet, but I'm really pleased to hear another Groom wore them all day. This has now become H2Bs plan!

I'm also pleased everyone seems to think they are ok. I thought I have loads of 'Nooooooooooooooooooo it'll be terrrible' comments. Although I would have probably got them anyway!

I think these are great, funnily enough I was looking at some the other day (think it was a blog). Apparently Schuh do sparkly ones but they're not personalised. I am very tempted to get a white pair for myself and a black pair for OH with the Mr & Mrs personalisation.

We've got quite a size gap too - I'm 5'2" and OH is 6'3"! Nice to know I'm not alone and we have the benefit of being able to wear any size heels we like ? for height and comfort I always go platform sandal style. Dune shoes are usually quite comfy I find. I want to be able to dance like a lunatic at the reception though so I'll be kicking off my heels.

When I saw this thread yesterday, I thought of you Mini. I was positive your H wore custom Converse. They look brill. I would love OH to wear some too, but I doubt he will. Would be awesome if we both had some!

I wore custom converse under my dress for our evening reception. I made a point of showing all my guests as i did them myself, everyone loved them. I found it a relief to get my wedding heels off tbh.

I had our initals C K added onto the outer side of my boots in swarovski crystals and ivory ribon as the laces. I still wear them now (obviously with the proper laces in them) and i get loads of comments asking where i got them from. Iv actually started to personalise friends converse now as i really enjoyed mine!

Ill try and dig out a pic, if not ill take one of them how they look now.

    These are awesome!

I got my OH some for Christmas and he loved them... we both wear cons a lot (I can't walk in heels so 75% of my time is spent in various shades of converse) so I'll be getting some and wearing them all day (my dress covers them and to be honest, i don't think our guest will think anything less of me!)

I'm still not sure about gettin all white or seeking our the silver glitter ones they did a few years back!

So cool. I'm still trying to convince myself that they'll be ok to wear with my knee length dress...don't think it'll happen somehow ☹️ x

This makes me sad. I can't wear Converse as they're too 'flat' for me. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than stomping around in a pair of Kurt Cobain blacks. [:'(]

I think you should definitely wear them, they'll look amazing.

I got my daughter some personalised Converse for her birthday, her and my H2B LIVE in them, refuse to wear anything else, so ofcourse he is wearing some for our wedding day.

He'll be wearing them all day though as he *hates* dress shoes (he hand cuts them for a living!). He's having the usual hi top boots but he's undecided on whether to have the date on the outer or the heel strip

Here is a pic of the ones Charlotte, my daughter chose, her nickname 'Charbear' is on the heel strip Smiley smile

I LOVE these! I was after some regular Converse trainers to wear in the evening under my dress, but am definitely going to have a look at custom ones. Bet they're expensive though!

Mine are the normal all-stars, and were £54.99. The un-personalised ones from somewhere like Schuh are around the £40 mark. So they are more expensive, but I think it's because there is so much choice and you can change the colour of every section, they need to be hand-made because no two pairs are going to be the same.

Mr (or should I say Dr!) DB got the leather version rather than canvas and I have no idea how much men's shoes are supposed to be!

I was leaning towards light or dark grey, as I think I'll get the most use out of those afterwards (I don't own any Converse yet, but have always wanted a pair). Not sure what colour accents I'd go for though. Hmmmm...

I don't have any yet either but want these!!

I want something funky but not too restrictive!

Most of my wardrobe is black, grey, pink or yellow!
