We never had one at my family home and we couldn't possibly fit one in our tiny kitchen here so I can't say it's bothered me. H does the washing up I do the cooking, it works for us.

H had one at his family home but since he never had chores to do there it might as well not have existed. The in laws scratched glasses and crockery puts me off, also they argue enough about filling and emptying the thing they might as well just save time and do it by hand.

We didn't have one until we moved into our current house 2 years ago and H was always moaning about our lack of dishwasher - I couldn't see the point with only two of us. But it is lovely having one - we only run it every 2-3 days, and I still do pots/pans and the baby stuff in the sink.

Popped on quick so only read the first page. We've not got one. I don't want one. There are four of us, me, H and two young children. I cope perfectly well without one. Takes minutes to wash, dry and put away. My H thinks I have an OCD with washing dishes. If there's something in the sink, I have to wash it instantly. ?

Waaaah! My parents in "mad as hatters" shocker ? I think they don't generate enough washing up to justify a full sized one, but dad refuses to run it until it's as full as it can be as he's obsessed with the water meter! Hence always running out of plates before the mug section is full, or vice versa.

My PIL have slightly bonkers dishwasher habits IMO as everything gets washed before it is put into the dishwasher, on the rare occasions it's used, so that seems a little pointless to me as well.

Maybe I need a dishwasher guru to show me the light? ? Not until we've moved though, no room for one here.

Essential to me - and they use less water than washing dishes by hand so more economical.

I just like how even when there are dirty dishes, they are out of the way and the kitchen looks tidy ?

We're a family of 4 and manage perfectly well with out a dishwasher, despite having a small kitchen - we wash up as we go along.

I dont' have a microwave any more and the tumble dryer is packed away in an outbuilding we have. I manage better than I thought I would with out those too.

No doubt, they are really essential. Especially, for busy family, because they don't have time for dish washing. When this work can be done by an automatic machine then why do it by hands? There are variety of dish washers available in market. One of my friend bought one from

Why does this anderson person keep bringing up old threads? Did it in WP, too.

Because they are spamming for a business.

Shame they don't realise that this activity simply engenders hate.

They seem to have realised now. deleting posts all over the shop.

However the thread in WP is so much funnier, how one goes from washing underwear to "buying your wife a dishwasher" beggers belief.

Ours fits where the cupboard under the draining board would be. I couldn't be without it now and everything goes in it, pans the lot.

    Yep!

Find it pretty annoying to be honest especially as there have been a couple or so up in the last day or two.
