Didn't want to derail the other thread but was surprised to find I'm not alone in not drinking tea and coffee as people act as though I'm mad when I decline their offer. I often get the 'What do you drink then?' question and thought it was just me. I'll drink water (from the tap), juice, milk, hot chocolate, anything else really, it's not as though I'm asking for something special to be bought or made specially for me.

I get the 'you're just being fussy' but I physically could not make myself drink either of them. I feel a bit sick thinking about it actually. Tea tastes of dishwater and coffee tastes of cigerettes to me. ?

I like an occasional cup of tea, usually when I go to my parents, but only really darjeeling or ceylon. Don't like PG tips etc so usually decline if offered. I love the smell of coffee and drank it occasionally at work for a while before accepting that I really hate the lingering aftertaste so don't drink it any more. H doesn't like any hot drinks, but then he's a fussy eater about lots of things.

I've never liked tea. I have forced it down once or twice to be polite, but it just tastes like I imagine washing up water would. Coffee I used to love but since being pregnant and going off it almost 3 years back, I've never got back into it. The smell of it still makes me feel sick sometimes.

I mainly drink water. MIL thinks I'm odd for drinking water as all she ever drinks is tea. No water, no juice, just only ever tea. THAT I find peculiar.

Tea is one of the very few things that I cannot stand. I've tried all types and flavours and they all make me gag. I can drink coffee if I really have to, but I don't like it. I'm not a hot drink person at all.

I never drink tea, even if it's made for me I can't. Went off it when I was about 8 or 9 when I tried some and it was cold ? Think the only time I've drunk it since was when I had heat stroke and was given some with extra sugar in. I did go off coffee for a while as well and just had hot ribena ?

I don't drink tea, but I do drink coffee black no sugar and very strong. In fact I am really fussy about coffee at home. I can tell the difference between caffeinated and de-caff (I don't like the latter). I prefer certain brands of instant coffee too and dislike others (Mellow Birds) ?. I prefer fresh coffee at home. I don't demand this of others though I'll drink what I'm given usually and be grateful.

I don't drink milk, milkshakes or hot chocolate or many soft drinks either now I think about it.

I don't drink either and neither does my H. I don't like the taste of them but H doesn't like hot drinks - more accurately, hot liquids as he doesn't like soup either.

I'm happy with water - hot or cold. When I ask for hot water I get asked if I want herbal/fruit tea (which I've never found one I like). I get a bit fed up of the "What do you drink?". I drink hot water, cold water, hot chocolate, milk, juice, soda water (with lime), water with cordial, water with honey and lemon, coke and other fizzy drinks like Ame. Theres so much more to drink than tea and coffee. People do seem to panic/be confused when you say you don't drink it though. Fortunately my friends and family are used to it now.

We buy the smallest bottles/packets of tea and coffee - trial sizes if possible - to try and make sure it doesn't go out of date.

I have never liked tea or cofee but even if I did, I couldn't have coffee as I suffer from migraines and that is one of the main triggers.

I drink loads of water, fresh orange and lemonade, soda and lime. I do love Irn Bru and Coke too but I try to limit them as they can cause me to get headaches.

I drink tea, however I only really have a couple in the morning when at work and that's it. I never drink it in the afternoon and rarely on a weekend ?.

I don't drink coffee. I like the smell of it but am not keen on the taste. However, it's the aftertaste that totally puts me off.

My H used to be a huge coffee drinker, less so with tea. However, after being diagnosed with a heart rythm problem he totally cut out caffiene and even though he is now 'fixed' he hasn't gone back to it.

I love tea and coffee, but I'm a little bit fussy. My tea has to be brewed quickly, (so given a good squish rather than being left to steep for too long) and I have the tiniest drop of skimmed milk in it. It looks strong, but it isn't, it's just nearly black. I also like it sweet - 2 sweeteners. I'd rather make it myself than let anyone else do it, although Mr g gets it right most of the time, and so doe smy MIL. My Dad stews it.

As for coffee I like it unsweetened and white, but not weak. I do drink instant but prefer filter coffee really. I currently drink more tea than coffee but there have been times when I've been a heavy coffee drinker? Altogether I probably have 4 or 5 hot drinks a day - I don't really drink cold drinks much unless I'm particulalrly thirsty.
