just working out some figures (oh the joy) with H tonight and he came out with the line I hate 'well, if we handnt spent so much on the wedding, we would be in a different place now'. He says he doesn't regret it at all, but he regularly mentions that we could have put that money into our house/future.

my opinion differs depending on what day it is and what I want at that time! If there is something I want but we can't afford (a baby!), then it does get me thinking but generally, I don't regret a penny and put it all down to the cost of milestones in life (wedding, house, baby etc). Plus I loved every part of our wedding.

I don't at all. For us, we paid as we went, scrimped and saved every month to get the wedding we wanted, so it's not like we saved for years and spent it all on one day. We didn't have any savings when we started and we still don't, so it doesn't bother me at all, and we had the most amazing day. It was well worth all the struggles and missing out on other things for the day we wanted.

I always think this too. We had a great day and had it how we wanted it, and planned to re-save up for moving. Considering how quickly we found we wanted to move after getting married, part of me does wish we had toned down the honeymoons a bit to save some cash!

Not married yet but don't have a problem so far with our budget and what we're spending. It's going to have been about 10months of our savings which is barely anything in the grand scheme of things. I sometimes wonder if we should have saved for a house deposit first but OH job is still quite liable to move so its worked for us. Also a house deposit is going to cost more than the wedding so it made sense for us to get married first and then save from there.
