Dress arrived

It is beautiful!! Maybe take it to a seamstress ASAP and see if they can alter it as personally this would mean it is custom fit, a smaller size may not fit perfectly but alterations will. If they can't aler it then order a smaller one xx

I agree. Take it to a seamstress and see what she can do - I’m sure she’ll be able to take it in unless is waaaaaaaay too big. Good luck!

As the others have said, I would take it for alterations then you know it's perfectly tailored as a smaller size may still need tweaking

It's really pretty. As it's only a little too big, I'd just get it altered - you might find that the next size down is too small and that can't be made bigger - and nothing is less flattering than a too-small dress! Maybe ask a seamstress now to check it's alterable, but then get it altered closer to your date. If you're anything like me, you may change size a lot in the next year or so!

Nothing wrong with mail order either - my dress was mail order and I loved it far more than the more expensive ones I tried on in a boutique!

Not necessarily your fault. Some companies can fluctuate hugely in sizing, especially cheaper ones. I ordered 2 dresses from the same company to try on, both similar cuts and in the same size - one was slightly too large and the other was so tiny I couldn't even get it on!

My hubby to be said he's arranging a lovely night somewhere so I'm sure it'll be fine, I think it's because I've had my hand in everything but this. Haha.
