Dress doesn’t fit

Oh, that's really not helpful - especially when you've LOST weight, it doesn't seem fair.

Is there any chance you've lost fat but put on muscle, which could account for some of the differences?
If your measurements are the same or slightly smaller, it might be that they've made a mistake with your measurements or taken the dress in too much and are now trying to put the blame on you? Seems a bit rude of them to ask you to lose weight, when if they've done their job properly, they should be able to let it out a bit without the need for a lace back...

It did seem an unlikely possibility, since muscle is usually smaller.
I honestly think telling you to lose weight is disgusting, and they should have tried to come up with other suggestions. A lace back can't be the only possibility, surely?

There should be enough material in the dress to let it out a little bit if they've done it well, and frankly if it's their mistake (which it seems to be), it's should be their problem to fix or compensate you for! Might be worth taking it to another seamstress before you try it on next week and asking if they can offer alternative solutions?

I am so sorry, that is not what you want so close and to be spoken too in that way is not helpful. Do you have a train? Could they shorten it and use the material to put a panel in the back rather than lace up? How much does it not fit by, if it is only an inch or so there surely has to be some option to et it out or add a panel. In term so fast weight loss i did 7lb in 2 weeks recently but I stuck to a strict high protein meal replacement plan, 2 shakes a day at 200 calories each and then 600 calorie meal which was mainly protein and veg, only 30g of pasta or rice pre cooked weight. Then 1 or 2 100 calorie snacks a day which were high protein so homous and veg or pepperami this was also alongside at least 3-4L of water a day. If you weant to know more drop me a message. I would say try and call them early next week to disucss options as they will need a bit of time to do any alterations so dont leave yourself short. It sounds like their mistake to me and they are trying to shift blame onto you.

There are also much nicer ways to suggest how to make it fit better than just say you need to lose weight.

Could you take the dress to another seamstress to get a second opinion? Otherwise they really need to come up with a solution that you are happy with as you don't want the lace panel they have suggested. What a pain, I wish you luck.

Isn't this your dress ? I saw it in the photos on your profile. The low back is one of the show stopping parts of it! How can they add lace to that, it will totally change the look. I think you might need to do a drastic diet as Charlotte has suggested then but be sure to write a formal complaint regarding the alterations and ask for a refund!

2 inches! they have messed up, I suspect when they pulled the bust in they did it at the wrong point and they should have dropped the waist to account for the pull in at the bust. If your measurements are the same or less than what you ordered the dress should fit, its logic! I think you need to get back in touch and speak to the manager and mention the measurements have not changed so how is it so different? I agree, the point if that dress is the back so the lace up wont work, unless they can do a panel within the current buttons area so it doesnt make it higher. God I am so angry for you and can only imagine how you are feeling. Stand your ground, I think they know they have messed up, hence the rudeness. I have my final fitting tomorrow so am panicking a bit more now! Good luck X

I’m sure everything will work out for you. I didn’t have a dress two weeks before my wedding as it never arrived despite being ordered a year before. I had a dress to walk down the aisle in and I’m sure your dress will be perfect in time too. Wedding dress shops rely on word of mouth to promote them and bad reviews can destroy their reputation.
