Elopements with kids

Cayley, 6 August, 2021 at 21:43 Posted on Planning 0 6
Hi all,
I’m new to this site. I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations for elopements with kids?
We have a 4 year old and a 20 month old, so probably 5 and 2 by the time we actually get married. We want to take them with us, and we want to do an elopement type wedding partly due to cost, and partly due to a complicated family situation. But the price including the kids seems to make it shoot up. Can anyone recommend anywhere? Preferably in the south of England.

Center parks is a lovely holiday with little kids, and just before the initial lockdown they refurbished their kids pool!

The best I’ve found is the green in Cornwall. It looks lovely, but it still seems expensive. Maybe it is what it is and we just have to accept it. Personally I’d be happy with the local registry office and a meal out, but my other half wants to make it a little more special than that! Personally, I just want marry him, and share the same name as him and my kids. I couldn’t give a toss about the rest!

Yes same here!!! I love my local registry office but not sure I want to add a break in with it. I’m looking at Gretna Green😂 going to give them a ring next week. Going to try & price it up. I saw one in Cornwall too!
Are you planning on a party or something after? We are. That’s what we want, a bbq & drinks with our friends & family. I think if I could find somewhere that will do it, I’d get married local. But everywhere are set up for a wedding breakfast, which I don’t want, and then your looking at stupid money.

Sorry I’m ranting on, but I kinda feel deflated about getting married at the mo😣
