OK - there's going to be plenty of things that your size / shape may not suit - but what is your 1 stylistic "no can do" that you're most peeved about? I would love to be able to do "tuckage" - that's to say tuck my jeans INside my boots. I simply have neither the height not the thighs to do this...

I would love to be able to do "tuckage" - that's to say tuck my jeans INside my boots. I simply have neither the height not the thighs to do this look and i feel so alone cos everyone here is tucked into their bikers / uggs / leather kneehighs / ... except me. (i know it's not that new a look now but it seems to be an enduring one.) It looks awful on some people but all my friends have fab legs and fab boots and fab jeans and can totally rock a smart casual look while I have stood infront of the mirror looking like cross between an inverted weeble and an extra from Sharpe or something. Gutted.

I am not one to blindly follow trends and there's been many i can't pull off but this one really bothers me at the moment!!!

Also - ponytails. I look like a twat - not to say i don't anyway - OR that i never wear my hair in a ponytail - but i really don't suit one and there seems no logical reaon why. My ears are fine, my hair is normal, my face shape normal - but a pony tail makes me look like a 7 yr old street urchin.

What look can't you pull off at all to your sadness?

I can't do halter necks, ever. I have the double whammy of broad shoulders & big boobs so I look like a wrestler if I try and wear them.

I also can't do hats. I have curly hair and a so any hat at all makes it stick out at funny angles. I'd love to wear hats ?

Flat shoes with skirts, as I have huge thick calves and no ankles. Like someone else said it runs in our family- even when I was a size 8 I still had cankles.

Polo necks- they make my boobs look as if they're down by my waist.

Strappy vests outside of my own back garden- cleavage and bra straps are not a good luck for me.

Skirts in the summer- the tops of my thighs rub together and cause chafing. I can get away with it in winter because of the tights.

Heels for any length of time- I need to take flat shoes with me and change.

    Empire line tops/dresses

I'm pear-shaped (well, more bowling pin shaped) so when they flare out over my stomach I look fat(ter) or pregnant

Clothes that really accentuate my waist unfortunately also accentuate my hips and bum, so I have to be careful with those too

Probably for the best that I don't follow fashion ?

Dangly earrings, though I am not sure why because my ears look normal without them.

Skinny jeans - my backside is far too large.

Sleeveless anything due to horrid arms.

I also wish I had the ability to wear nice shoes. I have a whole cupboard of shoes that I can sit in but if it involves walking further than to the car and back, I have no chance of wearing them.

Halternecks - 'experts' always say these are good for those who are less ample, but I look like a 7 year old in her mum's clothes...wrong on all levels!

Cropped trousers - short legs, they look chubby

Most hats - I love them, but I have a teeny head so they are all too big!

Belts around dresses, shirt dresses or tops - lack of boobage and big arse just make this look ridiculous on me!

Tapered leg trousers - have never met anyone who can wear these though!

Big chunky necklaces, beads look bigger than the boobs ?

It appears Rosencrantz and I are one and the same.

Rosencrantz, if you struggles with skinny jeans/hipsters too, we are indeed as one!

I too look like a cheap hooker with anything strappy/vesty or any short skirts, as I have big bangers and long legs. Doesn't stop me wearing the skirts, I just pretend that was the look I was going for, though the vests are a definite no!

There are loads more, I'm sure. Probably including the playsuits and harem pants that are all over the place at the moment, but I am damned if I am going to try either on and humiliate myself!

Skirts which are above the knee, as they make my legs look chunky and I feel really short.

Skinny jeans - they make my hips and thighs look big.

Empire line tops and dresses, as they make my stomach look big (although at the moment I have a legitimate reason for my stomach to be big so I can get away with this look...)

High heels - partly because my H is short, but mainly because my feet hurt.

Ballet pumps - I thought these would be an answer to the not being able to wear heels problem, but they make my feet hurt worse than heels do.

Low cut tops - my bra is often cut higher than many low cut tops, so I have to layer with a vest so I don't show my underwear off accidentally. And I'm not even that well-endowed - only a DD cup (although am an E at the moment)

I can't do ballet pumps either, Rachel, which is a massive shame as I am 5ft 9 without heels. My shins really hurt if I wear flatties. I adore high heels and wear them a lot now that I am over my self-consciousness re my height (after all, there's nothing I can do about it) but I like the look of flats, especially with skinny jeans......oh, wait, I can't do those either. ? ?

Skinny jeans - I am reasonably slim but have heavier thighs, so look really lardy in skinnies

So many things! I don't moan about my shape too much as I know I am slim (5'6", 8.5st) but I can't wear:

Skirts/dresses/anything that shows my legs as a. they are short, dumpy and out of proportion and b. I had drastic surgery on one of them which resulted in a completely mangled ankle and most of my left calf missing entirely plus an exciting variety of scars

Most shoes other than trainers, boots or flip flops, thanks to aforementioned nasty surgery. I have several pairs of lovely long boots to which I am v attached although the difference in the size of my calfs (calves?) does make them look a bit daft.

Very high heels - I stand awkwardly because of fusion surgery and have a limp that only becomes more prominent with v high heels. I do wear them sometimes if I am guaranteed to be mostly sitting down

Strappy/sleeveless/cap sleeved tops - flabby arms

Skinny jeans with waist length tops - saddlebags and short legs

Short jackets/anything finishing on waist - see above

I am mostly at a complete loss as to what to wear. Sweater dresses with skinny jeans tucked into boots works best for me at the moment.

Seriously though - I wonder how much of this is because the above things really look awful on me and how much is my own skewed perception? I wonder if this is the same for all of us - maybe we each think we can't wear all these things but have been conditioned into being hypercritical of ourselves.

Skinny jeans or leggings. It was the same last time round when they were in fashion and I weighed about 6 stone. I just have strange legs and look like Max Wall in them...

Heels too, I rarely wear them and they need to be 3 inch heels at the most. They hurt my back and make me walk like I have shat myself.

Layers. The moment I put more than one thing on my top half I look like a homeless person.

Accessories. I'd love to be able to add a belt, long necklace, drape a scarf or whatever else you see in magazines.

Hats - I found one that looked ok and now it gets worn to every wedding. I'd love to have a winter one as it's so damn cold here but it's not happening.

Most Trousers. I have a small waist (Not a big bum) and athletic (Definialty not chunky) thighs and calves . I want to know why wide leg trousers seem to be wider from the knees down only - who the hell wears them?

Boots, Thanks to aformentioned chunky calves they never fit. However i"ll live with this as I can do just abotu any other type of shoe.

    Ballet pumps.

I am short, 5ft 3, but have size 6 feet, so when I wear them my feet look like boats ☹️

I love, love wearing heels, but when I am travelling with work I want to wear nice comfy flats, but I can't, grr! ?

Any top with Lycra/other stretchiness in it - just makes me look like a hooker and/or boobs on legs.

And I am another member of the "can't wear shirts with buttons up the front" club - they manage to make me look both frumpy and tarty at the same time.

I have very high arches, so I also can't wear flat shoes, although at 5'11", it would be useful at times.
