First dance

I love that song. OH and I met at Jive/Salsa classes and it is one of the good 'starter' kinds of songs. Would recommend maybe trying some classes and if you guys learned some of the 'basic' moves and a small 'dip' you could probably pull of something lovely without even having a real 'routine', which will feel even more relaxed than a waltz. "Ceroc" is a national group who teach it and they have beginner classes and workshops that you could look into, as well Just a suggestion that I think would make you less worried about the first dance.

For the poster who was being 'picky' about the first dance......How about 'you and me, always' by the wannadees? I think that would be perfect for you!

Or the lumineers 'hey ho' (I belong to you...you belong to me...you're my sweetheart!)? Both of those seem to be the style you are after - and male vocalists.

H doesn't dance and said he didn't want to do a first dance, so we didn't pick anything. However, we somehow ended up on the dancefloor larking around with my nephews (9, 7 and 5) to Gangnam Style and the photographer and videographer promptly declared it our unofficial first dance!

There are some great choices here and all so different!

I think Riptide is romantic but subtly - makes comments to wanting to be left hand man - i.e. husband.

This the song the company OH and I work use for their advertising! There is no way on this man's earth I could have it at the wedding! Which is a real shame because it's actuially a really lovely song, but I'd just be thinking about work the whole time!

H2b is choosing ours. He chose A groovy kind of love by Phil Collins, but then he heard the Ed Sheeran song and is undecided. I think Phil will suit our 'first dance swaying' better and I worry that everyone will have Ed, but I do love it.

We still can't decide! OH wanted lever let me go by Florence and the Machine, but I didn't think it was "happy enough". As a compromise we're having it played while we sign the register, so back to the drawing board.
