Hi beauts, not messaged on here for a while. Our weddings only 8 days away week!

Just a quick question for you all. When would be the best time to open our buffet?
Our ceremony is a 3pm in our local register office, and reception guests are coming from 5:30pm onwards. The reception venue is 20 minutes from the ceremony venue
Will we need canapes in between?
We're not having a wedding breakfast, the hot and cold buffet is our main food; hot food for 90 and a cold buffet for 60
I'm probably just overthinking xx

That's a great point! Planning meal timing is important for any event, and having reliable menu information makes it much easier. In the same way, checking the Applebee's Menu with prices before heading out helps guests choose their favorite meals, explore special deals, and stay within budget for a smooth dining experience.

I think your plan sounds lovely! I'd open the buffet around 6:30–7:00 pm so guests have time to arrive and mingle first. If there's a bit of a wait, a few simple canapés would be a nice touch, but don't stress too much. Enjoy your big day!

This website has done an amazing job presenting the Jimmy John’s Menu in a clear and organized format. I found the information quickly, and everything was explained in a simple and easy-to-read style. The website feels fast, responsive, and well maintained. I also appreciate that the layout isn't cluttered, allowing visitors to focus on the menu details without distractions.

I think you’re not overthinking it at all! With guests arriving from around 5:30pm, I’d probably open the buffet around 6:30pm or 7pm so everyone has enough time to arrive, mingle, and settle in. If you expect a gap between the ceremony and buffet, a few light canapés could be a nice touch, especially for anyone who is hungry. It also helps to have a few simple options available before the main food. 😊

For anyone planning food for a special event, looking at Starbucks breakfast menu items can also give you some easy inspiration for smaller breakfast-style bites and snacks. Hope you have an amazing wedding day! xx

I’d probably have the buffet open around 6:30–7pm, once everyone has arrived and had a chance to mingle. Since you’re not having a wedding breakfast, I’d definitely consider a few canapés or light snacks after the ceremony, especially for anyone who hasn’t eaten since lunch. It doesn’t need to be loads—just enough to keep everyone going until the main buffet.

I’d probably open the buffet around 6:30–7pm, giving guests time to arrive, have a drink and mingle. Since it’s your main meal, a few light canapés or nibbles at 5:30pm would be a good idea. You could also check PF Changs Menus for some simple food ideas. I think your timings sound fine—you’re just overthinking it a little 😊
