Footwear for beach wedding

Hi all,


After a little guidance.
My wedding is taking place on a Beach in the Maldives, which is from photos a Sandy beach.
I’m torn what would be the best footwear for the ceremony. I’m a typical girl I would usually opt for high heels / shoes - but obviously I’m the case I don’t think it a practical.
Does anyone have any suggestions and or pictures of footwear they might have worn or their own beach wedding?

    Maybe a really binged up pair of sandals/flip flops. Guess depends on how sandy and how easy it is to walk on, so maybe easier bare foot

    You can get barefoot sandals which look very pretty. They are basically sandals without the sole so you have the detail on the top still. I am getting a pair for my own beach wedding x

    Also going for a beach wedding - sandy beach here in Cornwall but we are considering the Maldives for our honeymoon actually!

    I'm going to go for either white or gold sandals - something fancier than flip flops that still feels special but is practical for the beach. I'm debating going barefoot for the actual ceremony (I love going to the beach, and 9/10 find I'm kicking my shoes off after a few steps anyway as it's just so much easier to walk on sand that way!). I'll then having the sandals to pop on and off when we go up to the decking area and inside for dancing.

    To be honest, with my dress people will probably only see my shoes if I hoick my dress up to go for a paddle in the sea (and at that point I'll be barefoot anyway!) so I'm trying to pick something that I'd still want to wear outside of my wedding and will be comfortable in all day Smiley smile

    I agree I would go barefoot and have some pretty slip on flats waiting for when you are walking on paths etc x
