Juris moved from Latvia to London, we met, we fell in love, we moved in together and fast forward 5 years and here I am writing my wedding report.

Big fat ‘n’ funky- (Slightly Off Topic)

I know many people battle with their weight in the run up to their weddings and I was no different, after a freak illness and steroid based medication my weight rocketed almost 6 stone, (from 10.5 to just over 16 stone) I simply did not recognise myself when I looked in the mirror and the fact Juris agreed to marry me even though I was nearly 6 stone heavier than when we first met I knew I would be marrying the right guy.

(Me at my heaviest)

My weight loss battle was one of the hardest parts of wedding planning but I was determined to both look and feel like me on my wedding day.

I started dieting as soon as we set a date in November 2011 with an aim to lose at least 5 stone by our wedding day. I was keen to start early to allow for a few breaks or slip ups along the way.

So after months of hardcore calorie counting and the last two months getting my ass kicked by a personal trainer in the gym the day before my wedding I took a long deep breath, closed my eyes and stepped onto the scales.....

    My TOG did a sterling job making the flowers look good in the pics they were all wilted by the time we sat down for dinner (they show up really badly on guest photos) We wanted David Austin Garden roses as our main flower and paid £150 extra on our original quote for them, there was 1 rose in the main centrepiece so considering the fortune we paid there was a distinct lack of flowers amongst a mass of foliage. Smiley sad

    Well that wasn't a bad wee report eh?!

    Congratulations again Funky, it all looks totally beautiful and I love it all. Much love to you and your husband!

    P.s - I'm stealing the lollypop styling for my wedding, and I think the flowers look wilted (but I wasn't sure if they were supposed to look like that).

    In the scheme of things it's obviously not a big deal it's just we saw quite a few florists and we went with her because OH has worked with her lots in the past and we believed she would be reliable so was a bit of a slap in the face for him if you see what I mean?

    Well done on your weight loss, sorry you had to go through it due medications! But the hard work did pay off and you looked fabulous indeed!
    Are you sure about your MIL not getting the swearwords? Hahahaha. There is a Brazilian movie (called My name isn't Johnny) where they say "f*ck" is universal language!! I love the way you blamed the peanuts for the flatulence, nothing to do with the Mojitos!! Smiley laugh

    Your present to your best girl is awesome. I absolutely love it to bits! Love her reaction to it and how it will be something you will always have and treasure.love the idea of having something that makes you happy b4 the ceremony!
    It is also so nice The Dorchester also had a meaning for you! Made it all more special.
    And you're famous to us! I would have asked for your autograph!! Smiley smile
    I didn't guess who had the other piano!!

    What a shame about Juris' mum stress! Glad she got there in the end! Phew!

    And your entry music gave me goosebumps. Seriously! And really like the idea of you entering the room at the same time! How romantic!! Even more romantic there was a psychic thing going on with you both opening the door with the song going wrong. That along with the same chocolates you bought, it must be Fate!

    Wow Funky! I was really looking forward to your report, from the details and the flashes you've put on here in the run up I knew it was going to be epic and being the loser I am I saved reading it until I knew I could read it all in one sitting from start to finish so I could enjoy it all. It didn't disappoint! incredible.

    Love the photos - I've seen you talk about how important photographer was for you in previous threads and I can see why - the photos are incredible. The venue just knocks the socks off any others (The Dorchester for God's Sake!) and the clothes and shoes are epic. No wonder someone thought you were celebrities!

    You and you OH seem like a really lovely couple, I love the sweet little moments you can see between you in the pictures and the long life partner and the lift/courier bit really made me laugh. And congrats on your weight loss too. Ok that's probably enough fluff for one post! Congratulations again and I hope you're both enjoying married life.

    What an incredible report! I guess the wedding didn't look too bad either Smiley winking

    Seriously though, it looks like it was an absolutely fantastic day. I love that you have a photo of your first ever public kiss, and the one of you on the roof after the ceremony almost had me in tears.
