What rings did you choose Bex?

I have my appointment on Wednesday, yey!

We both went for medium weight palladium in the end. Mine is a plain polished 4mm band and his is a 6mm with 3 bands going round, the outside ones polished and the inner one is matt - did I just confuse everyone?! lol

ETA: I will flash when I get them ?

He was very helpful and didn't rush us at all. We actually laughed a lot in an hour!

Yeah kinda but with a bigger middle section then the other two.......it is ANFP622

OH and I haven't sorted our rings yet and I was thinking of getting mine custom-made to match the band of my ER....I mentioned Smooch to my OH but he was worried we would get the "hard sell" if we invited someone in to our home?

Are we ok to have a mtg then take time to think about it/shop around?

What was your experience of the hard sell?

OH got his ring from smooch (7 mm simplicity palladium band in the satin finish). He loved having the girl come over with all the samples. There's no way he would have tried that many on if he'd had to go round shops. We didn't experience any hard sell.

We didn't experience the hard sell at all. We asked as many questions as we wanted and tried on loads of rings. There is absolutely no obligation to part with any money that day or in fact at all. You will also receive free gifts even if you do not place an order!

Hi - we had the same worries and i can honestly say they were brilliant and I think in the end I had to say "How do we make a purchase" as it was never really mentioned. Sooooo relaxed.

I've seen them at wedding shows and thought they were massively overpriced!! Did you not find that?

No not at all. I spent sooo much time on the internet after our smooch visit (as we had 7 days to cancel) trying to find our rings cheaper and i couldnt. The closest i came was £50 difference.

I've been considering using Smooch so it's great to hear some good reviews.

My friend has used them and said they were fantastic but her taste has been known to be pretty hit and miss ?

I thought they might have been at first but taking into account that the general price of platinum and palladium has increased in the last 12 months since we got engaged meant that our budget was way too unrealistic anyway. On comparison they are actually very competitive seen as many jewellers won't openly advertise what you get for your money.....many of them selling light weight platinum at the same price that smooch would sell medium weight etc. Plus I think the lifetime guarantee - free resizing and polishing anytime - is priceless ?

Thanks Guys, good to hear some positive feedback. I might give them a call and try and arrange an appointment some time soon. I am totally torn whether to get plain or diamond band so the chance to try lots on would be great :-)
