Hairdressers help! I've singed my hair

Moglie, 5 September, 2008 at 08:46 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

I've singed my hair (is that how you spell it?). I lit the massive oven at work this morning and it blew back and I've singed all one side of my hair. I've got a shortish, choppy, layered bob but I have very thick hair so I now have one side of my hair and fringe with crispy white ends.

Do I need this cutting now or can I put something on it to get rid of the bits.

I need a hat ?

Oh dear. Yes you do need it cutting, however, it should just be the ends.

It does look wrong doesn't it!

What a bummer, can't offer any professional advice but I bet the smell is a bit strong... poor you.

Hope they've looked at your oven at work, it doesn't sound safe. And I'd fill out an accident form for singed hair ?.

I think you've got to get it cut out.

Thanks everyone. I called the hairdresser and she will sort it tomorrow, do a treatment and a cut. Gutted though as I paid £40 just last week to have it done! Think I will have a significantly shorter style this time tomorrow?

    And yes it stinks?

It wasn't works fault. It was mine. I'm the manager and was putting ovens on ready for chefs and didn't realise the knob was already on when I turned on the gas switch. This meant that there was already gas coming into the oven when I flicked the ignition. A huge ball of fire shot out?

I have since made sure everybody knows to check the knobs are all off when they switch the gas off.
