We've got our list set up with it. Only set it up about a month ago so cant really vouch for how good it is but we did quite a bit of research first and the reviews all looked pretty good so we went for it...

Do the paypal payments/cash/cheques just get sent direct to you straight away e.g. do they come as and when (or if!) people buy you a gift?

We have just set one up through Thomson so it can go towards our honeymoon, we didn't do a gift list as such, just left it open for guests to donate money. When we registered, we got a gift card sent to us so I think the money just goes on to that. We have only had one person use it so far, but you get an email to let you know when someone has donated.
