Herbal/fruit/flower tea.

flowersinherhair, 18 October, 2013 at 10:20 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 23

Who's into herbal tea and what are your favourite flavours?

I like green tea and peppermint tea but when I use the tea bags at home they don't taste as nice and fresh.

Also like raspberry and strawberry and camomile, honey and vanilla.

I had chrysthathemum (sp) in a spa once and would recommend that it's absolutely lovely and I've luckily found they do it in the cafe under our flat yay!

what can you recommend?

I am a mixed berry girl- I just get a pack from aldi and take them when I am on shift (no need for milk etc).

I have not really tried anything more exotic, maybe I should branch out- will keep an eye on this thread.

I'm always really disappointed by the fruit teas - I'm drawn in by their amazing smell then they taste like water with a weak hint of something.

I love ginger&lemon tea though. I'm drinking one now.

Try the camomile and spiced apple by twinings, it is yummy.

I drink green tea, probably an average of 2/3 cups each day. Peppermint sometimes, but I put myself off it when pregnant.

I then drink the green teas with fruit flavours occasionally by twinings, the pineapple one is lovely- think lilt. I like the buttermint one by twinings too.

    I don't like fruit tea.

I don't like fruity tea, it never tastes of what ti says on the box!

I quite like ginger tea. I had some in a little tea shop in Prague and it was yummy. Haven't found anything quite as good int he supermarkets but recently found a nice 3 ginger one that has a bit of a kick to it!

I went through a phase of drinking nettle tea once but that doesnt taste of anything!

I drink Green tea but not fond of anything really fruity, I've heard good things about the ginger and lemon ones though so I might give them a try.

Have you tried the Higher Living one? 'Ginger kick'? It's one of my favourites and definitely has more of a kick than some of the others. I tried a gorgeous ginger tea when we were in Bali and I've never found anything quite as good since despite lots of looking.

Like many others I'm not so fond of the fruit ones, I find they smell amazing but taste of nothing really, like very very weak warm Ribena.

I do love peppermint tea though, have really got into that. My grandma makes a brilliant chai tea with ginger which I love.

Surprisingly I do seem to have a huge variety of tea. If you visit me you will be offered any of the following:

    English Breakfast
    Earl Grey
Some loose-leaf tea from Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka
    Peppermint
    Strawberry
    Peach
    Green Apple
    Ginger
    Fennel

I do however have only one kind of coffee... instant coffee... no idea what brand it is, my mum said to me one day "you must have coffee in case you offer people tea and they ask for coffee instead" and brought some granules round in a glass jar!

I am a huge tea fan!

At work I stock the Teapigs range, they are amazing. My favourites are Jasmine Pearls, Tung Ting Oolong, White Tips and Darjeeling Earl Grey.

They have a couple of unusual ones like Popcorn (green tea base with puffed rice) and Chocolate (assam base with cocoa beans and chocolate flakes) too but I wouldn't drink them on a regular basis.

Strangely I really dislike their breakfast tea though. Much more of a Yorkshire tea girl Smiley smile

I'm a dedicated Twinings girl, even take my own Twinings Everyday to FMIL's when I visit, (my mum drinks the same so no need there, or I would!).

I love the Twinings fruit teas, currently I have the Apple & Blueberry, Raspberry & Cranberry, Blood Orange & Cranberry, Strawberry & Mango, and Raspberry & Pomegranate mixed up in a big kilner jar in the cupboard, bit of a tea lucky dip!

I hate vending machine tea, which is all that's available at work, so bring tea bags & sweetener for a hot drink, easier than 'proper' tea as I'd have to faff with bringing milk as I can't drink it with out.

Several wedding fairs I've been to have had goody bags with tea-pigs in, and I've built up a little collection of them, are they used just like a normal teabag? or do I have to do something special with them, I would like to try them eventually!

Nope nothing special you need to do . They just need a little longer brewing time than normal teabags. I love the Tung Ting Oolong and the Jasmine pearls Smiley smile

Thank you, I've been a bit scared of them tbh as I didn't know what to do with them. Have counted up and have 7!

A couple are repeats, if I like them when I try the first one I may stick the other in my handbag, as they're in a nice packet they're easily portable Smiley smile

I like herbal/flower teas but not fruit. All the fruit ones taste too tart for me.

the ones I've tried and liked are; Green tea, peppermint, fennel, jasmine and peachblossom. Twinning is also my favorite brand!

    Twinings Raspberry and Echinacea.

Just got into it over summer and am convinced it's helped me fight off all the cold bugs that have surrounded me at work and from OH at home! Normally I fall ill very easily.

I don't like many fruit teas. I'll drink lemon and ginger occasionally but mainly drink peppermint and white tea. I've got some liquorice tea coming with my food shop on Monday after it was recommended to me.

I often drink black Earl Grey with lemon or a week black PG Tips with sugar.

My black tea of choice is Teapigs English breakfast - they're whole leaf teas so take a little longer to brew, but you can use the bags again without them tasting stewed. I'm not too fussy though and most of the time will drink any normal tea you put in front of me. Not so keen on Earl Grey, it has a weird taste of washing-up liquid to me.

I have some Twinings fruit infusions but they always taste much less nice than they smell!

Twinings peppermint tea is my favourite, we get it free at work (along with loads of other fruity teas) but that's the only one I have tried. As others have said I tend to find when I do try fruit teas they smell lovely but taste bland. MIL has just brought back a tin if pomegranate tea from Turkey for us and I am a bit scared to try it! I was also given some Chinese tea a few weeks ago and yet to try that too - I think I may be new-tea-phobic! ?
