I'm getting waxed today...

Kebab thief, 8 July, 2008 at 12:02 Posted on Planning 0 17

...for the very first time. I've waxed my legs a few times at home in the past but I've never had it done professionally and I'm a bit nervous. For some reason last night I decided to book a full leg and bikini wax for this afternoon, I must be bloody mad.

So, is there anything I should know or do beforehand? I have to say I'm not keen on having someone fiddling around with my nether regions but I'm just going to have to get over it aren't I?

Oh...I'm scared.

Best way to book it then you dont have too much time to back out think about it.

Take some pain killers before you go. And dont wear anything too tight fitting, allow breathing space for after.

Wouldn't worry about the nether regions you wont even think about that while it's being done!

BOTH!! I get bikini waxed all the time - but can never wait long enough for leg hair to grow in!!! Its not that bad - although its sometimes nips around your ankles! Good advice given above! Just chat to your therapist and you will (maybe!) forget all about the pain ?

    good luck!

Oh good luck...I have my bikini waxed every 8 weeks and it does get easier the more times you go. As the other ladies have said...take Nurofen about half an hour before you go and keep chatting away to your beautician as a distraction. I always stock up on E45 or Savlon cream for afterwards too as can be a bit rashy the first day.

I've never had to take painkillers before getting waxed - you'll be fine! I had a hollywood bikini wax done a week before my wedding, having only ever had 'normal' bikini waxes done before (and not regularly so hadn't built up to the it gets easier part) It was a walk in the park and well worth it!

only ever waxed legs before now, had it done 'properly a few times but I prefer doing it myself at home where I can have a cuppa and watch TV at the same time! H2B is proficient now too so he can do the backs of my legs where I can't really see what I'm doing!!

I'm back! (and I look like I've got measles but apparently that's normal)

It wasn't too bad actually, my legs didn't really hurt but my bikini line stung a bit! I don't think I could have a Hollywood, I had an extended bikini and that hurt more than enough, especially the underneath bits ?

She even did my hairy toes and feet ?

I'm sitting in my loose fitting pyjama shorts to get air to everything. When I took my jeans off I had quite a few fluffy bits where there was obviously a bit of wax left, any ideas as to what's best to remove them? Just soap and water?

Just leave the sticky bits,,,they come off eventually and if you try and scrub them off it'll feel sore!

But they feel horrid! I'm supposed to be going to Bluewater tonight and I don't really want to walk around feeling sticky ?

Will be very gentle with some soap and water and a soft flannel I think.
