Hi everyone...planning on getting married in Feb/March 2016 in Lapland. Currently thinking of the Levi Ice Chapel. Wondered if anyone else has married here and how much it cost and what you got for the money. I'm trying to organise but don't want to pay over the odds

Not telling family.. You're brave lol.

Yes decided on music... As I pull up we are having a few seconds of the Star Wars death match as a joke, h2b's idea, it then goes into grow old with you from the wedding singer then as we are walking out or signing the register we are having you're my best friend by queen

Like the music and Star Wars lol.

I'm just recovering from breast cancer. We wanted to get married but I couldn't face all the sh** so decided while we were in Lapland (my bucket list trip) we would get married just us two. No interference, no stress.

i bottled out of sending everyone a clip of the music "going to the chapel and going to get married" on the day with a photo of ice chapel lol and decided we would tell everyone before we go but after it's a done deal with no decisions left to be made. Might not give away any details just say we are getting married while there wait for photos.

It's only mum I'm expecting negativity from as she's always negative. Don't see why you're bothering. How can you wear a wedding dress at your age bla bla. Why don't you just go to the registry office. And my all time regular favourite.. Grow up.

I need calm and no stress. Lol.

So music because h2b was brilliant with the cancer..... Violin instrumental david garrett.. I'll stand by you.

First dance in the snow outside maybe art garfunkel.... I only have eyes for you.

That's lovely music. I'm glad you are in recovery. My mum is always negative too, hence the reason I didn't take her wedding dress shopping, that didn't go down great!

Do you know where you are having a meal after? We have very fussy eaters in our party so have chosen the Colorado restaurant as I think that will suit everyone. Really wanted the panorama but after seeing the menu I knew it wasn't going to be suited to everyone and I didn't want to pay out money or something they wouldn't eat.

I'm the fussy eater in our party so will have to look into that one. What sort of a menu is it. We have a couple of days between arriving and wedding so thought with only four of us I would just book something when there.

Omg no way would I have taken my mum dress shopping lol. She would have been a nightmare. I would have left in tears with no dress and the wedding cancelled.

i think I will do a flash on the day I've had all her negativity so you ladies can restore my confidence. H2b loved but typical man when I asked him this week what my dress was like he couldn't remember it and lapland 2015 has seen it and said it looks lovely. I love it. It's one of the first times I don't look in a mirror and see chemo woman!

The menu is sort of American tex mex. There is steak, chicken, lamb, burgers, fajitas... Not very typical wedding style but something for everyone.

Definately sounds more like me. Long as I don't feel a twit in my dress lol.

Or might eat in our hotel a la carte restaurant and hope for some freebies! We are in the K5 Hotel. Purely because it has it's own reindeer out back and our balcony overlook them. And I can buy food at the bar and feed them. Lol.

I asked the same question about the twit in a dress to our wedding planner and she said lots of brides do it. I did think about changing and making everyone wear really bad Xmas jumpers but I decided I do not want to take my dress off! We are staying in the levitunturi spa and have upgraded to a suite so we have a private sauna in the room and a balcony. Feeding the reindeer sounds amazing!

I don't think your hotel is far from the K5 so you will be able to walk up for a drink, buy a bag of food and feed them lol. I'm taking my cossie in case I go to your hotel spa and pool. Are there outdoor hot tubs in the snow I wonder?

We have a private sauna in our bathroom too. Not a lover of saunas but might need it to warm up sometimes.

There are hot tubs outside in our hotel and lots of pools inside. Men have to wear speedos, shorts are forbidden! I'm going to buy h2b some speedo shorts, still not the most flattering but a tiny bit better than normal speedos! And in public saunas you have to be naked.

I will defo take a walk to the k5 and feed them. Thanks for letting me know that

I heard that about the speedos. My friend and I bought our other halves a pair each which they will both look ridiculous in lol. Didn't know you had to be naked in a public sauna. Fine with strangers and OH maybe but not fine with friend and friends OH. WILL PASS ON THAT ONE I THINK.
