Love the dress, don't love the service

Georgina, 26 August, 2021 at 17:11 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 6
Hi everyone

I'm getting married next year, and think I've found the dress. It's from a designer I've always loved and I'm absolutely blowing the budget, but I've made my peace with that as I love the dress so much.
However...has anybody ever felt a bit like somewhere almost doesn't want to sell you a dress? The assistants are all tall, size 8 fashion graduates (I'm a fairly average height size 12, with a boring desk job!), and I've got it into my head that they don't want to sell me a dress because I'm not cool or thin enough. Nothing major, just not being that friendly or warm, and taking ages to reply to emails etc. My maid of honour thinks I'm being insecure and should get the dress if I love it but I'm considering going elsewhere. Thoughts?!

Does anywhere else stock the designers dress? It might be worth trying another store if you find the staff aren't being very friendly at the actual designers.

The good thing is once you've ordered your dress you'll only have to see them to pick it up as you can always get alterations done elsewhere if you're not getting a good vibe from them! Go with the dress you love and don't let them put you off

If the shop assistants are making you feel like this then I would buy the dress from another shop with friendlier staff. It's an important day, the dress shopping should be a fun experience that makes you feel like a princess, not feel like you're not worthy to wear it.

I always find it amusing in shops when the assistants are rude, without the purchases they wouldn't have a job! I'd buy it from there if there was no where else but I'd make a point of telling them there service is crap afterwards. Can we see the dress? X
