Michael Jackson - RIP

I'm sure he's been rushed to hospital, it's just not yet clear that he's dead. All the news sources I've seen are quoting TMZ.com so are saying "Michael Jackson 'is dead'" rather than "Michael Jackson is dead"

When it's on AP/BBC I'll believe it. I think it's looking likely mind, but news is a tricksy thing.

Still unconfirmed on BBC News 24, they're speaking to Uri Geller at the moment.

The crowds are gathering outside the hospital already.

BBc have just said they've heard that Jackson is in a coma and not dead.

LA Times saying he's in a coma.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pop giant Michael Jackson, who took to the stage as a child star and went on to set the world dancing to the thumping rhythms of his music for decades, died Thursday, TMZ website reported. He was 50.

"We've just learned Michael Jackson has died," TMZ said.

"Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the entertainment site said.

BBC still not confirming it although LA Times is.

Bbc still not confirming other than saying that reputable sources inc tmz and LA Times say he's dead.

Remember reading someting not that long ago about his potential for a coronary due to a genetic complaint.

Who confirmed dead? BBc not confirmed but tMZ and LA times have.

In fact BBC are maybe not that reliable as seem to have no idea whatsoever is going on. Hospital probably need to confirm.

The interview with Uri Gellar struck me as odd as Uri was saying it was unconfirmed and until it is confirmed then he holds out hope..etc but kept referring to Michael in the past tense.

Just thought it was very odd... almost like he had been told to stick to the story of "not dead" but couldn't help talking in past tense. If he really wasn't dead, then why talk about him in the past tense?

I know shock and all that, just struck me as odd that's all.

I'm waiting for the BBC too. I guess the BBC want Dr's to confirm it and I think that's the right thing to do.

Lots of people on facebook saying how they think its just to get out of the tour. That didnt even cross my mind but anyone think this could be the case?

I think Uri Gellar would be one of those people in the real know though because he's his best friend but perhaps his family want some time before the Dr makes it official and the world goes mad. Perhaps they are also trying (God, this is so sceptical of me) trying to ensure they have strategies in place for the kiss and tell stories that are bound to come out about his life.

Poor, poor family - especially his kids.

I think dying is probably a bit of an extreme way of trying to get out of a tour!
