Can you remember what your first mobile phone looked like? I've just been discussing with my friend and found a photo online of my first ever mobile. Hilarious! It looks like an 80's walkie talkie!!! I had this in 1998 on Cellnet (remember them?) before you could get PAYG phones.

I had one of these! It was a Christmas present from my mum when I was 15. When I went to college, I splashed out on this beauty:

I loved it because the little butterfly on the screen used to flap its wings every few minutes ❤️

Haha. And yet I Really want one for our hallway. Yes we have cordless telephones in the house, but our one in the hall lives on the floor at present! I feel pretty old now!!

Now those things were a pain in the arse to make a call on. When you got a digit wrong, you had to redial the whole number ?

My Mum and Dad got a cordless phone years ago but until recently they still took the call standing by the telephone table!

I remember a previous post like this... was a quiet day at work and so I googled my whole mobile phone history!

Mine started with this Ericsson on BT Cellnet. It also had a rather fetching plastic cover!

No texts, no games, just calls, and I was 18!

Mines was a Nokia 5310 I think and I would have been about 14 at school, texting constantly to my best friends and playing Snake ?

I had the same as Pompey then one of these. When I got this I thought it was the coolest phone in the universe. I remember when I got my first colour screen phone too. I thought that was incredible!

We had one of these in red my parents did not replace it until I was about 20, we called it the bat phone and it was a right pain, I was a chef at the time and was torture trying to dial with a cut on you finger.

I got a pager and a lava lamp when I was 16 as phones were coming out then but too expensive!

I got my first one, on Vodafone when I was 17. It was £150 payg and texts were 50p a time. Also, every time you did text you had to manually enter the number you were texting, so I I had the numbers written in my diary back pages. All 3 of them! Only 3 friends had a mobile, and 2 of them were Vodafone, hence me being same network. One of those people still has the same number. We are now 31!
